I practice handstand for 8 years. I am 59 years old. I can hold it for 2 minutes. I practice almost every day. At first it's even difficult to breathe. Nowadays I can sing, talk and feel floating. I watched every video, every tip that exists on youtube, and it helped. But the most important thing is simply to turn yourself upside down and your body by itself will begin to "learn" for you. Every achievement is a victory, and learning the handstand never ends, it's levels of improvement. The three tips you gave are basic and correct. I would say that as soon as a person feels progressing, feels comfortable in the position, they should start doing handstand pushups against the wall. Use books to adjust height and graduate. This will help to strengthen the shoulders a lot, balance. Handstand only brings me pleasure, and through it I learned many other skills, because many skills are connected, intertwined, and in this chain, handstant is basic. It takes time to learn, but we don't even notice it, because it's addictive and fun.

This was a really cool video. And I don't mean just for handstands, or exercise. But for learning anything in general. It takes a lot of skills we don't normally use to achieve long term goals like this, especially in this day and age of instant everything. And this gets right to the heart of it, especially the part about celebrating the little wins, and enjoying them. Before just moving on. ✌️

Now I can walk a mile with a 50 lbs rucksack on without missing a step. Development is a lifetime of goals and achievements even at the basics, I think your video as you observed puts the emphasis on small steps and long run attainment of seemingly impossible odds. I am always trying to do the next cool combo, or spin on one hand and do it better, or combo down to a shoulder hold from my hands and back up, but I never stop and truly appreciate how far ive come. Love it! What about walking in your hands? My older brother has always enjoyed walking on his hands. Seeing this video is super inspirational and I now know that handstands are going to be a big part of my life moving forward! ❤️🙏🔥🙌🌎💫🪶🌻🌸🪐🌹🍁

As someone doing handstands for over 12 years now, but only super irregularly and thus not improving over the point of "can hold a hs sometimes over 30 seconds with mediocre technique" I *really* enjoyed this humble yet motivating video. Also really like your thoughts around 7:30. This reminded me of Adam Ondra and his olympic speed climbin success this year (watch the video if you can). He didn't win against his competitor but he won against himself with a better time than ever and was able to celebrate it so purely - amazing! Good look to you on your further journey and thanks for increasing my motivation again, to persure the handstand and all its different facettes a little more and more consistantly again.

Love to see your journey! I'm from Brasil, where capoeira was born, and was really nice to see your fluid movements an all the fun you get from it :)

Hi Josh, i start my handstand journey today, thanks for this video and give me all this strength to build my handstand. I started to work out three month ago thanks to your freedoms, way to move and how you enjoy that. Now im very happy everyday, like a little monkey dancing and moving around the park, training in my house and chilling. Today is my first day on handstand, thanks bro. im waiting for your 10year transformation and i will be there with my 5 year handstand transformation too.

Started on the first day of this year, in my mid-50s, and I'm hoping to do what you can by the time I'm 60. I don't even care how fast it happens... never thought I'd enjoy the journey this much and it's only been a few months! Love working out this way! Great video!

Yo , message for all people who think it s too hard : THIS DUDE IS RIGHT . I though since ever that handstand is for others , people who get it young , who are born with this skills . Even if i tried to training myself , i failt and give up .but One day , in vacation , i was losing in a ping Pong tournament with friends and did handstand while i was waiting my turn for a new game. And at this moment for the fordt time of my life : i could stay 3-5 second and feel the power in my finger without hâve for expectation to do it seriously. Since , i practice with pleasure everyday , Make transition with it ( head , track) and have so much fun . Like he said get a handstand open u so much possibility that u could n imagine be able to do. Morality : do it guys , if i can , everyone can ( i m 28 ) Btw , for the author of this great video , u should try breakdance , according to how u move , u ll probably hâve fun to practice ur Skills with musicality . Try it bro

I’ve always wanted to do handstands! Gonna begin, thanks for the encouragement! I used to only focus on lifting weights and never really paid attention to athleticism and/or calisthenics. But the older I get, the more I would love to be able to just make my body do what I want it to do
