Well it’s pretty non existent really 😂 this video just opened up my mind in a good way so than you 🙏 I’ve pushed some dumbbells lately 🤷🏻♀️ pulling and pushing and not really enjoying it as much as I once did. I have a strong desire to strengthen my total body functionally. These videos have been very inspiring for me lately. I’m starting at zero. 46yrs old, mother of 6yr old twins. Just lost a good amount of excess weight (yay) and I really want to use ‘fitness’ in a more efficient way moving forward. Again thanks for these videos. So very inspiring for me. ❤️🔥

I'm stuck at pulling yet my pressing and legs are getting stronger. I've begun to add a weight vest/kettlebell/big water jug to my pushups and all leg exercises. But...stuck at pulling a max of 6 really clean arched back pull ups. Can probably hit 10 or so really clean supinated pull ups.
@Nate_tureboy3 жыл бұрын
I like the ground based moving and workouts! I touch ground daily including most often being barefoot. But ground work lacks increasing pulling
@Strengthside3 жыл бұрын
@@Nate_tureboy Nice Nate those are some good numbers! Maybe consider adding the weight vest to some basic pull ups
@Nate_tureboy3 жыл бұрын
@@Strengthside yessir Josh, I've considered it. I just wrapped up a period of 5wks of pure strength (Reps to 8, Sets to 4/5, RI to 4min) and enjoyed the process, though taxing. I too incorporated light/med core and mobility between sets. I did not add the weight to my vertical pulls because I feel I should be able to knock out 6 chest to bar arch backs for a few sets before adding weight. Im no newbie so I cannot really figure out my lack of greater progression over a few years! Perhaps I'll switch periods to hypertrophy pressing and legs while continuing to acquire strength in pulling...but maybe add weight and shoot for consistent reps of 2 - 4. I've done a lot of continuing research for years and never come across anyone mixing pure strength and hypertrophy to any capacity. I'm tall very lean and gaining but I would like to be thicker. Of course nutrition is numero uno but I'm constantly thinking I'm underfed

Hey Josh, fan from brazil here. Great videos, love the lessons i get from them! Gotta say, though you may already know that, those "free-style" moves you like to do, they are literally capoeira. Don't know if you've heard of it, it's the brazilian "martial art", but it's so much more than that, it's play, music, dance, history combined altogether, and from the little I've seen from you it looks like something you'd just love. And it's got lots of acrobatics to get wild with

20 years of lifting weights to please the bloody ego in the mirror, then found out l5-s1 protrusion and got scared. Stopped weights, watched Frank Medrano and fell in love with calisthenics to just find out I made so many mistakes for 20 years.. If I knew it before :) Finally found your channel which is mind opening. I'd love to join Primal athletes once my meniscus tear will let me.

I spend my 20s with either partying, gaming or sitting on the couch while smoking and watching TV shows. Only in the end of my 20s I realized the positive effect exercise has on my psyche. I now spend my free time with gaming, TV shows but I exercise almost every day (if I am not injured from trying something new or doing something too excessively). The last 6 month while I was basically locked up because of corona were the height of my training discipline so far. I mean there is a field with a pull up bar near by but still, lots of exercise happened in my tiny little room on the floor. Real prison style.

Man, WOW, Shoulder push ups! I am not there yet but I used to do a variation of that move by hooking my feet on a bar for stability. I just reached my anniversary of shoulder surgery after an injury. I really like your ideas and want to work up to getting back that shoulder toughness. I have made tons of progress since I finished my physical rehab. I did great with that and have gradually been getting close to where I was before the injury. I don't want to re-injure that area again. Thanks for some great tips and ideas for overall fitness.

Do you have any suggestions for someone who is rehabbing a broken clavicle? Obviously I can't take much weight with that arm until things have healed up a bit more but I was hoping you might have some chest/shoulder exercises that don't involve much lifting/weight bearing..? I know, it's probably a bit of a silly ask, I shoulder probably focus more on core and legs until things have healed up more. Loving your channel!

it was about 10 years ago that I randomly attempted to do a cartwheel in the yard for the first time in probably 20 years. I remember I was scared to death standing there with my arms up and my eyes bulged out looking at the grass, and I was paralyzed not even remembering how to make the the first move lol. It took a few minutes to get sorted out and go through with it, but I decided that losing touch with the ground and equilibrium just wasn't a good idea.
