It just proves never to judge a book by its cover. Julius is a very kind-hearted and humble man even though he is the strongest man when it comes to bench press. He did not show any anger after someone mistakenly loaded uneven weight on the bar in an attempt to break the world record. Talk about bad timing. It could not have come any worse time. Most people would have been very pissed including myself.

Siamand Rahman still has the most impressive 300+ kg Bench I have ever seen. I mean he made 300 kg look like a damn warm up with ZERO leg drive and no arch. Probably the only guy I think that could have given Julius a real run for 800 if he could use his legs. He sadly passed away in 2020.

The old narrow benches in the 70s had to be weighted down at the foot-end so they wouldn't flip over. Later they invented the wide benches, which was a safety improvement, but it meant you couldn't do a wide grip to the ends of the Olympic bar.

Daniel is looking incredibly strong! Julius is still the king in bench, though.

to me the most impressive bench was by BRUNO SAMMARTINO. he only weighed 260 pounds and benched 565. no steroids, no wraps, no shirt.he also benched 330 pounds with 38 reps.
