Thank you all so much for your incredibly kind comments. We really appreciate it ❤ We noticed some people are a bit confused regarding the timing/onset of Beemo’s symptoms. Some people have assumed that his health issues started due to our recent time spent in Canada (when Beemo was in Korea being cared for by our friend at our home). As we mentioned in the video, Beemo’s symptoms first appeared and progressed long before that-over a year and a half ago during the height of covid. This is when we hadn’t traveled to Canada (or anywhere, really) during that entire year and a half period during lockdowns/restrictions, so the ‘separation anxiety caused his illness’ idea really doesn’t add up.

Hi. I know diagnosing IBD can be tricky and most of the times requires a tissue sample. In human we do colonoscopy and biopsy, less invasive than open procedure, has this option ever been offered? If you guys don’t think this is possible, I would recommend discussing with the vet of possibly starting corticosteroids, which is the treatment for IBD. This shouldn’t cost that much and would tremendously help with reducing inflammation and weight gain.

Gentle reminder that any kind of stress and anxiety responses to a certain trigger or triggers can be delayed, AKA: PTSD. I’ve suffered from PTSD for over 15 years now. I’ll use another example from my life - my grandmother. When she was living, she had cancer. She successfully beat the cancer, but a year later, went into a deep depression. She became so anxious that she could barely eat, and lost a lot of weight as a result. We had to do a feeding tube for her because she was going to die if we didn’t. The mind, and the nervous system, are very complex. Animals are similar in many ways to humans in this regard. You never know if something upset kitty in some way. Some anxieties lie dormant, and awaken if a trigger prompts it out. Sometimes they stay dormant. It all depends on life experiences. I personally had a wealth of anxiety buried somewhere inside myself that I had no idea would surface. And when it did, it was hell. I have digestive issues and all. You name it, I have it. I really hope the best for Beemo. Take care, all ❤️

@@ardyfenando919 I have 28 years in Veterinary medicine and after all their troubleshooting and considering Beemo’s fragile condition, you’re right on point with your recommendations. How his body responds to the corticosteroids can be an indication of what’s wrong almost as much as a test could. Ideally if the corticosteroids help him and he gets back to a normal healthy weight, then the Vet may be able to do the needed tests to get a more definitive diagnosis and fine-tune his treatment for the future.

Omg, I was tearing up watching this. Our little furbabies give so much love to our lives, its truly heartbreaking when we feel so helpless in these situations. It's definitely hard to have to consider plan C as an option even though it could be a reality. Please know you're both awesome parents to Beemo, he knows how loved and cared for he is by you both! I adore Beemo, I'll be adding a place on my altar for him. Lighting a candle for him everyday. My yorkie, Sugar Bear had that. He had to eat cottage cheese/baby food/a powder from the Vet on top. It breaks down the food for the pancreas, he lived to be 15! He got chubby after his diet change/powder from the Vet. He was a different little guy!! It's treatable Y'all!! Hey guys, I think it's the first time I see one of your videos (the algorithm being spot on with cats + Korea) and I just want to say how I understand your stress. My husband and I have a 16 yo cat that was diagnosed with small T cell lymphoma at the beginning of the year. The first symptoms, thinking back now, were him losing weight (we thought we were just successful with his diet as he was an overweight cat for most of his life) over the previous 3 years. He also regularly vomited clear liquid (water or saliva) that would have a pinkish hue. We brought him to the vet several times (we are in the US) and they would say his esophagus was probably irritated, hence the pink. It came to a point in January where he clearly had blood specks in his clear vomit and it scared us. Our local vet told us he'd need an ultrasound but they could not do it at their office. So, we went to a bigger (better) vet hospital, they did the ultrasound, then told us they would need to do a deeper exploration - we agreed (that was a few grands $$$ for an explorative surgery in the belly) and they found the lymphoma in his gut. Thankfully, it's Small T Cell, which is manageable with chemo. We've been giving our cat one chemo pill a day, plus some steroid. He also got calcium supplements for a while, and I think they gave him a shot of vitamin B12 twice so far. He's doing fine. He's still not putting on weight, and like you, I can feel his little bones. Plus, the chemo prevents his fur from growing, so whatever he sheds doesn't grow back...But, all things considered (he also has stage 3 kidney disease and now may have osteoporosis) he is comfortable - he eats, drinks, poops/pees on his own, can still jump on and off beds and couches. He talks to us all the time, whenever he wants something (that has never changed! ) He might not play or have his zoomies anymore, but he's 16 and sick, so we are happy with him just snoring all day! All this to say, keep trying to figure things out for your kitty and I would say, as long as he is comfortable and can do the basics on his own, let him be. Of course, finding the right time to let go of a pet is never easy, but there might be more time left than you think. Sending much love and support your way!!

First, you both have nothing to apologize for, and thank you for sharing this news with all of us. I’ve also noticed Beemo looking thinner lately, and was worried his health was taking a turn. Us pet parents get it, and it’s so hard when they’re not well and can’t say what’s going on, and you can’t get any answers from tests. It’s not about quantity of life, it’s the quality of life, and the hardest thing is having those conversations about plan C and letting them go without suffering. Beemo knows he’s deeply loved by his Mom and Dad, as well as his legion of Aunties, Uncles, and NB Guardians around the world. I’m so sorry Beemo’s not been feeling well. My daughter has IBS that stem from stress, anxiety and ptsd. She also is extremely low in vitamin B12 and has been getting B12 shots every two weeks. The shots seem to be helping. Also along with her nervous system problems (migraines and spine), all of these things disrupt the digestive system. My daughter just looked up and she said cats can get headaches too. Apparently cats can have headaches and if they have spinal issues they can have fecal and urinary incontinence. Give Beemo a kiss and hug from us. ❤️❤️ 🐈

I sincerely hope for the best outcome for Beemo! I had two senior pets pass within two years of each other from medical issues and both times left my heart broken. Definitely understand the stress of an unwell pet and the concern of trying to solve health issues. We just went thru Plan C with one of our little dogs with enlarged heart and the pain &ndiscomfort she was feeling. We gave her meds for awhile but knew when it was time. We cried thru the whole process but knew in our hearts that it was the best decision. I hope that this most recent blood work will give you some answers. Beemo is a special cat and brought all of us much joy!

Treating feline health conditions is such a roller coaster, especially when they show no symptoms then all the symptoms and then you have no idea what is going on. My sister’s cats kind of had the same issue as they reached “senior” stage where they were always hungry but just continued to lose weight. I hope these new tests comes back with answers so you have a direction. The not knowing what to do is the worst. Beemo knows he is loved and he obviously ended up in the perfect home to be cared for, regardless of what happens.

This is exactly right. As humans we go through great lengths to find answers, but the truth is that animals knowingly accept the process of aging and shutting down. It's very normal for dogs and cats to gradually lose a large amount of weight as their life cycle comes to an end. Doesn't make it any easier for their humans by any means, but we need to be cognizant of how much we make them suffer in our quest to fix things.

Hi Sarah and Kyuho. If EPI is not likely the case and IBD is a consideration just do a corticosteroid trial, see if that helps. Especially if biopsy is out of picture. The benefits outweigh the risks.

I hope you will both change your mind about getting another kitty in the future if the worst happens to Beemo (lots of good thoughts ). It is devastating when you lose a beloved pet. It’s like losing a member of your family for sure. But don’t give up hope. Does Beemo have a colitis? If so, maybe he needs a course of steroids? I am sure you have already talked to your veterinarian about all potential therapies. I hope Beemo feels better soon.❤if you think he has exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, then hopefully you can start him on pancreatic enzymes. Are his stools light in colour?

안녕하세요. 항상 영상 잘 보고있어요. 저도 반려동물을 키우고 있고 올해 8월에 갑작스런 변화가 생겨서 이별준비 중에요. 맨처음 변화가 생겼을때는 안락사도 고려했었어요. 영상에서 말씀하신 한국과 캐나다 사이의 안락사 견해 차이는 진료비 차이라고 생각해요. 캐나다에서는 기본진료에 몇몇 예방접종만 해도 500달러가 훌쩍 넘어버리는데 한국에서는 20만원 전후로 해결 가능하죠. 캐나다에서 영수증을 보고 진료비만 100달러 깜짝 놀랐어요. 지금 다니는 병원은 6600원이고요. 지금은 주에 15만원씩 약값과 진료비로 지출되고 있는데 제가 만약 지금 캐나다라면 이걸 어떻게 감당하고 있으며 저희 아이는 어떤 상태일지 궁금하네요… 저희 아이는 변화 이후 mri, ct 등 검사를 해봤지만 비모처럼 결과상 특별한 이상은 없었어요. 그렇지만 아이는 2.8에서 1.5로 말라가고 있고요. 저희 아이는 ckd 만성 신부전과 췌장염으로 밥을 먹으면서 배 아프다고 비명을 지르는 아이에요. 설사는 물론이고요. 만성신부전이어서 레날 사료를 먹여야 하지만 레날 사료는 지방함량이 높아서 못먹이고 췌장 사료를 먹여야 하지만 단백질 함량이 높아서 먹이지 못하는 이도저도 못하는 상황이에요. 저도 아이가 고통스러워 한다는 것을 인지하고 있습니다. 하지만 아이가 고통이 너무 심해서 생을 마감하고 싶다 라고 생각하지는 않아요. 그 권한이 저한테 있다고 생각하지도 않고요. 병원에서 처방해준 약과 수액으로 그 고통을 최대한 없애줘야한다는게 제 책임이라고 생각합니다. 아이가 밥을 먹지 않는다면 강급도 시도해보시는걸 추천드려요. 병원에서 진통제도 처방받으시고, 네이버에 ‘아반강고’ 나 ‘신장질환을 이긴 고양이’ , ‘고양이라 다행이야’, ‘세상의 모든 고양이’ 카페 가입하셔서 비모 상태 공유하시면 정보 얻으실수 있을것 같아요.

So sorry to hear about Beemo's condition. I understand what you guys are going through. My cat has similar issues too. It started with rashes, she scratch herself raw and bleeding. Than the vomiting started, she can't keep her food down. It was lots of trips to the vet, all sorts of tests and trying out different types of food. Finally, we decided to do a biopsy. The results showed that she is allergic to a long list of things and diagnosed as IBD . The vet prescribed hypoallergenic dry cat food and long term steroid medication. Her condition was under control for awhile with occasional flare ups. But now that she is a senior cat, there are added complications like Feline Pancreatitis, UTI due to long term steroids medication. Sometimes I feel helpless too, I try to keep her happy and comfortable. Big hugs to to you guys

My cat is on palliative care. He has cancer. We spent thousands trying to figure what was going on. We are keeping him alive as long as he purrs and eats. He is getting thinner and thinner. Our cat is 16, however. I think Beemo is younger.

Sorry to hear about Beemo, it's definitely very stressful when our fur babies come to the end of their lives. I was very distressed and cried like a baby when I had to put my cat to sleep, but what can we do this is the reality of owning pets. Sending you both big hugs, Karen

I'm sorry to hear about your cat's health. I understand the experience that you're going through. I went through something similar with my lovely cat back in 2017 and again with my cat that was living with my parents in the US in 2020. I went through several tests to help as much possible. Unfortunately their health kept declining. This video made me a bit emotional. I miss them dearly. Wishing you the best to get through this💜

I went through a similar situation with my own cat. She was so sick and it wasnt likely that she would make it. It was an extremely stressful and gloomy time for me and my family, so i understand you guys completely. Thankfully shes okay and healthy now. Im sure Beemo will be alright, just dont give up on hoping💕 love you

I can just imagine how frustrated you must be not to be getting definitive answers about what is causes Beemo to lose so much weight. I’m keeping him in my prayers that there will be an aha moment and Beemo can get back to being his normal self. Having gone through pet hospice with our dog Rufus a little over a year ago, I know just how hard these decisions can be to make. Stay strong and find time to give Beemo extra cuddle time . The Harry Potter concert looked so fun. I can hope that this group can reach my area in the States someday.

처음으로 댓글 남겨보네요... 비모에게 [시그니처바이 D/a '알파' 복합 췌장효소]라는 제품 조심스레 추천드려요. 저도 같은 증상을 가진 나이 많은 고양이를 키우고 있는데 저희 고양이도 늘 구토가 잡히지 않았어요. 그래서 ibd 가진단을 받고 소화에 도움이 되는 처방 사료와 가수분해 사료 등을 다 찾아봤는데 큰 차도가 없었는데 D/a 알파 복합 췌장효소를 섞어서 먹이고 많이 좋아졌어요. 이 제품이 다양한 소화효소가 들어있어 구토와 설사에 시달리는 고양이들에게 큰 도움이 되었습니다. 특히 이 제품은 영상에서도 언급한 코발라민도 들어있어 좋았던 거 같아요. 다만 매번 사료에 섞어줘야하고 냄새때문에 기호성이 엄청 좋진 않지만 츄르(혹은 좋아하는 간식)와 섞어 사료와 같이 급여하니 구토가 눈에 띄게 줄고 있네요. 부디 비모도 빨리 낫기를 바래봅니다 ㅠㅠ

안녕하세요^^ 너무나 도움이 되는 댓글 남겨주셔서 정말 감사해요. 댓글보고 곧바로 말씀주신 췌장효소제 주문했고 오늘 받아서 방금 비모를 먹여봤어요. 습식에 섞어서 줬더니 다행히도 잘 먹었고 앞으로도 잘 먹을지는 두고 봐야겠지만 비모가 얼른 영양분을 흡수했으면 좋겠어요. 계속 배고프다고 조르고 밥을 많이 줘도 배가 빵빵해도 배가 고프다고 울면서 막 졸졸 따라다니네요 ㅠㅠ 아직 EPI 검사 결과가 나오진 않았지만 일단 소화 흡수가 안되는것으로 보여서 모든 수단과 방법을 가리지 않는 중이에요. 앞으로도 비모 상태를 봐가면서 췌장효소도 꾸준히 먹여볼게요 정말 정말 감사해요.

Really sorry to hear about Beemo's ongoing health issues :( Watching our fur baby's deteriorating health and the thought of if/when we have to end their suffering for them is the hardest part about being a pet owner. I was at that point last year, after 20 years of having my amazing cat that was my companion from young childhood and into adulthood. Watching his health progressively getting worse was so difficult to watch and even though he still had so much life and awareness in his eyes, we knew that he was in so much pain. It was a difficult and heartbreaking decision, but he, at least, was able to pass away in my arms. I hope, though, that you won't get to this stage with Beemo and I pray that a solution can be found for his digestive problems!

Here in USA, most Philharmoniscs have been doing this for the past 10 years...I will never forget when I they were showing "Star Wars" wow the tickest were sold out for all peformances within minutes. Before the pandemic they showed Harry Potter. The sound is beyond words... or course these American Orchestras most of them have 100 muscicinas playing together. I am glad you guys got to expereince it

my heart aches for you guys and Beemo... since 2019 I lost two of my dogs and two of my cats due to old age, Kidneys, and stomach cancer and it's so heartbreaking to watch them whilst you try and figure it all out! I'll keep my fingers crossed the tests find something and he can be brought back to good health. ❤

Firstly, I'm so sorry to hear about Beemo. I always look forward to seeing him in your videos. And, I know how you must feel because my cat has been experiencing the exact same thing for the past year also. He's skin and bones, lethargic, and has the same digestive issues. He'll get better with some medicine and certain foods for a few weeks, but then he'll go down hill and we have to try something new. After numerous vet visits, we don't have much info either on what the cause would be. I truly understand your frustration and concerns. I really hope you get some answers soon and he's able to recover!

My cat passed away in 2018 to kidney disease. I decided to not get another cat because of my age. Beemo has been like a surrogate for me, he has so much personality and a friendly smile that reminded me of my cat Peach.... wishing you 3 my heartfelt sympathy during these stressful trying times...

That concert looked like so much fun! What a great experience. I've been to a similar show and grew up going to orchestral concerts and am always greatly moved by them. Beautiful music. It really sounds like you're doing all that you can for Beemo. It's such a difficult experience that no pet owners want to go through. Keep doing the research and keep asking questions and something will show up. Even if it's EPI or something else, at least you can have some answers. I really hope that you get the needed answers.

We had a cat that passed a couple years ago, and my wife had the same kind of sentiment as you guys. It's all about quality of life. She was a super old cat and my wife had a line drawn in the sand just like your mom about if she passed that point, then it would be time to take her in and let her go. So I know how you guys are feeling :(. Hopefully that time comes later than sooner, but you'll always have all the memories of Beemo when that time comes :(. Sorry to hear he's not doing so great.

A very similar thing happened to my dog, she gradually declined until we had to have her put down earlier this year, it breaks your heart but to see them suffer is so much worse. I really hope you don't have to see him go, but I know you gave him the best life. Good luck Beemo♥
