I look up to guys like this. My dad was a trucker until he just couldn’t do it anymore. He had a stroke, heart attack and through it all he still drove until he became bedridden. It takes a special person to do the job they do. People are so inconsiderate on the highway and don’t realize the skill it takes to drive an 18 wheeler nor do they realize how hard it is to stop something that weighs that much when necessary. Thanks for doing these videos, it reminds me of my dad that’s passed on.

Damn it boy. That's the sweetest sounding truck with a def tank on it I've ever heard. 😉😎

Right? I wish my pickup had a noisier def tank 👍

Just cause it has the tank, don't mean that tank ever drains lol! Definitely sounds deleted to me, I'm also a trucker

As soon as i saw Pershing Rd exit. It brought back flasbacks fromthe 80 s trying to get back in there to deliver my Cali produce. Thats only with a 265 inch Pete with a 48 foot trailer.

One of the coolest channels I’ve ever watched! 14 years ago I moved from New York to Dallas and I wanted to become an over the road trucker, but I just could not find anyone who would help me figure out how to get started. Oh well! I’ll just enjoy it through your channel. Love that Peterbilt!

I love your truck. The simplicity of the outside makes it so much more elegant to me. People put so much extras on their trucks. To me though, less is more.

At the end there, your boss has to love your economical driving😂😂 sorry I just had to😀(i do not know how to drive a Pete, and that may be the way to drive them, if so i take back that comment). I drove trucks in Norway for 14 years and had a Scania V8 with strait pipes and did the same to hear the sound (full trottle). Props to you for not being a worldchampion who never miss a gate while backing up, and shows it on the video. That is a truckdriver, no one is perfect. Looking forward to a new video. Have a nice weekend.

Life Behind The Wheel and thanks for that. Nice looking and sounding truck you have.

Drove the same type of Pete for many years until I retired. It will always take many adjustments with the tractor to get under your trailer when docking in tight spaces. Tanks hitting at times are inevitable unfortunately. Dont beat yourself up. Long nose non set back front axle and stretched Pete's don't turn under like setback front axle tractors. Many guys driving those fleet trucks dont understand this let alone driving a stick. One recommendation, get yourself a wheel spinner for the steering wheel. You will be able to put quicker input to the front axle while backing up compared to palming it. There were docks I would normally have to make three adjustments to get into palming the steering wheel that I could do in one having a wheel spinner. Once you get used to it you will never want to be without one. For people that always wonder why guys in a long nose sleeper pete hangout the door while backing up it's not because we don't know how to use our mirrors or want to look cool and not be safe, it's because the sleeper sticks out past our cab and as soon as you start the cut in the mirror is completely blocked by the sleeper. This does not happen in aerodynamic fleet trucks as there is no stick out of the sleeper. Once your hanging out the door while backing and palming the steering wheel at the same time, it's more difficult to keep your hand on the wheel completely and turn it fast. This is where the wheel spinner will solve the problem. People may ask is it worth all the trouble to drive a long nose Pete, answer is Hell Ya! There is no better ride or pride of ownership then these trucks! Stay safe to all you drivers out there!

Is it way more difficult driving those instead of a Scania for exemple where the engine is in the center or is it the same or if it isn’t the same is it hard to adapt? I would love to drive one of those trucks but I don’t know if it is too much difficult, I hope it is easy to adapt

I did a ride along with one of our lowboy guys in Denver. Free way action, not bad. Industrial streets. My god. We had to grab a big cat excavator on a quad axle trailer. He was a master operator. I swear to god we went thru places I wouldn’t pull a golf cart trailer. I was sweating bummers but that stuff didn’t phase the driver. Front axle up on the median and the trailer barely squeezing by the stop signs/lights. I suppose it’s all what you’re used to but I was seriously impressed.
