Obviously the ingredients are what puts up the price. To be honest I would not eat Foie-Gras but it is very expensive. If they had used Truffle Oil instead of real Truffles the cost would be a lot less and they could have included cheaper but good tasting mushrooms. Things like Caviar as well (Fish Eggs that just taste of Salt? I prefer Cods Roe, As the Eggs get bigger they taste less of Salt). All things that idiots eat to show off how much money they have and not enough back bone to say that actually they do not like it.

I'm thinking $200 was probably a pretty decent price for that meal. You had the entire staff catering to you and the restaurant to yourself. The quality of the food was unparalleled. I mean, the food alone probably cost more than $100. Considering everything, they probably broke even. I would absolutely do it! I'm so happy to see you sharing the feast. You're awesome, Mike! And chef Peter deserves at least one Michelin star!

Honestly, I'm feeling so disappointed that nowadays expensive food items basically just means: caviar, truffle, gold or expensive luxury meat (foie gras). I feel like the only worth eating expensive food is like something that has so much labour put into it rather than just an expensive ingredient that will make it taste good.
@wesleymartins59706 жыл бұрын
I guess most of top dishes are based on ingredients, today.
@chawwiiee6 жыл бұрын
Well, those ingredients are expensive for a reason... Like, Truffles don't grow like regular mushrooms. It's in low quantities because it is very difficult to grow and harvest. Same with cavier, a fish can only make so many eggs and the person selling the cavier needs to grow, fertilize and butcher the fish. Might be "simple" ingredients but there's plenty of labour to harvesting them too. Just saying.
@xjl61876 жыл бұрын
Chaww iiee this ^ !! We shouldn’t ignore the labor invested in the production chain just because they didn’t directly prepare the dish :’) high quality ingredients are also reflected in the price. The only thing I have a problem with is seeing people try a dish that’s only $1000 because it’s literally covered in gold or something because it does nothing for the dish flavor wise and the presentation isn’t worth it imo
@chawwiiee6 жыл бұрын
Vy Liao That's a diffirent arguement too, people that spend $1000 on a single meal normally is just for entertainment purposes. I don't know about you, but I'm literary just watching Mike because I will never spend that much money on a meal, but I'm curious if it's actually tasty. Lol.
