Thanks for making this video about Strider Hiryu. The story of Strider is not fleshed out enough. Capcom and the Manga co-owner of Strider really have to put more work into their story. I have been following Strider since 1989.

Adore Strider Hiryu so much he was always my number one classic Hero from the CAPCOM universe if i have to pick one right beside the time where also was Radd Spencer (BIONIC COMMANDO) ARTHUR, and then later DANTE from DEVIL MAY CRY and the survivalist Heroes from the Resident evil universe such the REDFIELD family, BILLY COEN etc but there is something deeply special about Hiryu that he will always have a special place in the heart of this old Belmont thank you for the lore and homage video for STRIDER expect to start covering the BELMONT FAMILY and the CASTLEVANIA universe someday soon? also thank you for the X-MEN content

This is very pleasing to see someone bring up Hiryu's tragic backstory regarding his sister because it adds so much emotional depth to his character and gives us a good idea as to why he is always emotionally closed off in every game appearance he is in And in the manga he is given even more personality like joking around with close friends, preferring peace over conflict and the many losses he goes through on those he cares for...

His acrobatics is more than just his ability to grip to walls, high-jumps, and stunts. He can apparently alter his inertia to any degree for a few seconds after a leap... from killing the inertial and letting gravity do its work to completely redirecting the inertia. The only way he could be a better aerial master is to have the ability to fly. Well, give him the ability to levitate and, combined with this talent, he can fly anyway.

Shinobi came first in the arcades and was released in 1987, then Ninja Gaiden in 1988 and finally Strider in 1989! 😎😎😎😎

Strider released on a 16bit Arcade board ... Not really 8 bit. By the time 1989 hit we were starting the home era of 16 bit home consoles.

I don't wanna sound like a mean Catholic school teacher but the main battleship is called "Ballog" not "Balrog". I understand the mixup w Street Fighter II's dumbest character: Balrog, whose name was ALSO a mixup internally at Capcom's dev team because initially they named him "M. Bison" to mirror "Mike Tyson", which was far too controversial for US marketing in 1991. You couldn't make this shit up.
