I like this version. The genesis really tries its best to emulate the X68000s sound. And i think it does well. Hard game though. Im absolutely awful at it which is a shame because the game is AMAZING! Quite a few games like this won me over on both systems, like Thunder Force 2, Star Cruiser, and Granada.

Pretty much identical to the arcade original which isn’t surprising as Capcom programmed Strider on the X68000 which shares the same Yamaha YM 2151 sound chip and what i noticed about the X68000 port is it took some of the jingles from the Mega Drive version, such as “stage finish” and “introduction 3” and “introduction 4” before the Amazon stage.
