I keep coming back every year or so to this. Words can not describe how unique, weird and surreal Strider's soundtrack is.

Such a fantastically diverse soundtrack and imaginative arcade game for 1989...

What a great soundtrack this game had. I'm surprised that people don't rate it higher when compared to best game soundtracks of all time.

It's certainly very high on my list. With the exception of "Strider Returns," I love anything and everything Strider. It's easily my favorite Capcom IP. Still not sure if it's my all-time favorite game series, but it's close.

Definitely one of the best - if not THE best - of the 80s

Strider to me will always be one of those capcom classics that I can come back to and completely fall in love with over and over again. I hope they have a dlc cross over with Monster Hunter Wilds. At least a Strider hiryu costume and a respected dinosaur monster or robo ape boss.

@Silventolin agreed. it's such an ominous piece that screams "it's all over" ... even though it's only the end of the first stage.

Played this game as a kid, never got past the 2nd stage but really loved the 1st stage music. Though I was born a year after the end of the USSR, but even still, this sounds very "Soviet"

Matt Brine What really scared me the most in stage 1 was that mech that went "Blop blop blop blop", duno why but the sound still irks me

Compare this music to Emerson Lake & Palmer's Brain Salad Surgery and you can hear exactly where she was inspired! Go give it a listen if you like this style of music!!!
