For me, it’s Hinderer, CRK, then Strider. I have had 6 XM-18s and 1 XM-24 and find their ergonomics to be among the best, of any knives, production or custom. Also, while I haven’t had a Hinderer Eclipse, I do have a ZT 0392 and 2-0393s and I find their ergonomics to be better than CRKs or Striders. I haven’t owned a Umnumzan, but I have handled a few and I didn’t care for their ergonomics. I do like the Sebenzas significantly more. I can’t remember how many CRKs I’ve had, but has been more than 10. Of the Striders, I’ve only had 1-SNG CC. When I used it, I felt like my hand would slide up on the blade. I haven’t owned or used a SMF, I might like it better. I regret not being able to keep all of my Hinderer’s and CRKs, I haven’t had the desire to replace the Strider.

Wish I could find an sng. Owning an xm-18 gen 6 and a large sebenza 21 and an umnumzaan, I tend to measure all knives by the quality of crk. I really didn't get the hype about them until I disassembled and reassembled my crk's. They're machined so perfectly, just tighten the screws and the action, centering is dead on. Have an inkosi with tanto blade on pre-order. But I'd definitely buy an sng if I could find one to complete the trinity shown here.

I have these same knives but slightly different each. My sng has the flamed ti, the hinderer is od green, and the zaan is older. As far as the microtech I only have an SL Ultratech. I think you have good taste in knives :) I don’t have a favorite though, of the 3 I carry and use them equally.

I own a CRK Large Sebenza with macassare inlays. I think Chris Reeves and Hinderer are tied for the uses for me. The Chris reeves is inbetween them both as a slicer and a tool. the Strider is the best slicer and the Hinderer has the bullet proof blade, awesome. My next big purchase is the hinderer mx-24. I choose the Chris Reeves cause it looks like n is a Luxury Knife the holy grail lol. But in a emergency situation id choose the Hinderer in a second and I don't even own the knife. but the design with the jimping and choil are perfect on the Hinder in My opinion. I said the CRK is the only expensive purchase for a knife at 750 Canadian, but watching the reviews of the Hinder ive decided to add it to my next knife purchase. I just bought the Cold Steel Code 4 with S35Vn with a really nice hollow grind and Satin Finish. If Cold Steel would start making their knives in Us the Code 4 would be up there with the rest for 400us plus knives for the best Lock Back. I Do believe Cold Steel made the strongest folding knife from what ive seen, but in the end I thing ill just stick with Hinderer, CRK and the Cold Steel Code 4 as my top 3 favourites. In the end its all about personal preference n comfort. Great Vid Thks

I am a Hinderer fan owning 3 XM-18s and they get carried more than my 2 sebenzas however both models are excellent and very well built. I do love the CRK hollow grind better though. I carry a socom at least once a week also. I really like it and would grab a 3.5” bladed version in a heartbeat if MT came back out with them. Haven’t owned any Striders but do have a Protech Strider SNG and the design is quite different from my preferences so i don’t think i will end up with a Strider. Its all personal preferences though honestly and everyone is different which nothing wrong with that or any of these folders. Any would be a great choice imo. Enjoy the content and have been a subscriber for a while now. I realize this video is like a year old but glad to see the cursing has toned down since as i had to keep lowering the volume while watching with my kids at the table lol.

Glad you made this video, as I have been wrestling with this decision. I have a Hinderer XM-18 tri-way non- flipper on the way. Thought I wanted the CRK Sebenza, but when I found out they don't free drop it made my decision easier. The strider is still a little to rich for my blood, at the moment...:)....By the way what exact model is that Strider?

What do you think about the Strider where you have half of the knife's G-10 holding the knife design and stability + with a pivot inserted and sitting on it, on the G10... I think with enough pressure sidewise you could brake the G10 or get some blade-play going... Custom titanium left side of G10 would have been much appreciated especially considering the cost of this knife. + that horrible little pocket clip. WTF is that about? I think the blade shape & design is what's going for Strider but Hinderer Full Track or any of Chris Reeve's knives can outperform this guy. Although it's a beautiful addition to any collector's collection. Great video! Subscribing!

The clip is easily the worst part of this knife imo, supersteelsteve did a pry test with his strider smf with g10 and actually broke the blade before even damaging the handle. In terms of cutting ability I'd say striders new knives outperform both crk and hinderer and I think they lead the pack in heat treatments. Overall I like hinderer more but I think strider is killing it right now!

@@SharpThinkingKnives "did a pry test with his Strider smf with g10 and actually broke the blade before even damaging the handle" - WOW! I'd never imagine that. Always been critical of the G10 half... Cutting ability I think is more of a blade material related. My Strider SMF comes with my favorite CPM 20CV supersteel blade and I know in terms of cutting ability I'd never complain with 20CV or my other favorites: M390, N690, BG-42 (very rare steel used for fighter jet engine parts), CPM S110V, S90V, S125V, Sleipner or S35VN... combined with descent blade thickness (above 3MM).
