So many great things can be said about Grant Stone footwear, but I think probably their best feature is their superb quality control and precise craftsmanship. Just check out their nearly perfect welt seams, which I now consider one of their trademarks. I just bought these boots with their recent restock. Can’t wait to wear them!

Is it just me or does anybody else find it strange that this channel seems to get less and less views. The production quality remains high, the products are interesting and very well presented. Maybe the reviews are too positive?
@Stridewise2 жыл бұрын
This is a soul crushing question but the answer is the traffic is based largely on search volume, so I naturally did the most searched topics early on, and now there aren’t a ton left lol and when I do lots of red wing and Thursday content, which has the most search, people get bored or call me a shill haha. Plan is to do like half searchy things half clicky things
@bensa60162 жыл бұрын
@@Stridewise That makes sense. Maybe you could emulate other popular channels like Rose Anvil. Why not bring in more items from popular fashion brands that imitate the style and feel of classic heritage brands and make comparison videos. The more people understand quality, the fewer fashion labels can afford to cheap out on quality. I very often find myself liking the look of something expensive, just to find out that the quality is just not up to par with the clothes I am now used to. However, most people I speak to, don`t even know what good quality is, because they have never really seen it and those people don`t find your videos at the moment.

Had these on during a motorcycle accident. Found myself very thankful for how tough kangaroo leather is as I had not a scratch, only downside is that the boots did take the road rash. Hoping my local cobbler can polish out some of the damage. My only complaint is the lugs- It pushes the boot towards ruggedness, but the split toe pulls towards a smarter look. Odd to say about boots, but I wish it had been more dressy without lugs

I just need grant stone to make a tougher diesel boot. The back shouldn't have a hole. The heal cover is stitched together to the top. instead of having the heal cover covering the entire leather. To be honest grant stone and Thursday make one of the nicest-looking boots out there. Gs are just at a different level in terms of quality. In terms of good year welted boots American made there is none. Sure you have nicks, whites, and red wings but all those boots only make wilderness boots. We all need one boot. That boot that you can take out into the forest, while also can be used in the office. I just bought a pair of Ottawa in Crimson CXL last saturday and I received it a couple days later. The first pair was too big at a 9.5D even though I wear 9.5D in Thursday's and Cole Haan's. I purchase another pair of 9D the day I received the 9.5D and received it within the same week. The boots are beautiful except for the left boot on the outside have major "grain break" that makes the boot look ugly. The right boot does not have this problem and I've been in contact with GS CS but I'm being told that it's typical of CXL which is full of crap because I have a CXL Thursday Captain's that are only $199 and they do have grain break but not as severe as the Ottawa's left boot. All I want is a boot that did not have so much grain break but I have not received any customer service regarding my concern. I just want an exchange and I want to love the boots and I do love it for the way it looks but the "grain break" is fugly and really takes away from the quality of the rest of the boot. At this point, it seems like there is a valid reason why I didn't want to buy from GS before because they are mic and this quality is not surprising. If me situation doesn't get taken care of I will never buy or recommend to anyone I know. I spent $180 more for a pair of boots that are sub par in leather. Otherwise, the boots are nice except for the "grain break." Thanks! @grantstone

In terms of ethics, I can't see why one type of leather can be more or less ethical than another. Either your position must be that all types of leather are unethical, or none is. Own the fact that leather is from a dead, farmed animal. If you can't handle that, wear canvas-based shoes.
@Stridewise10 ай бұрын
I gave a bunch of reasons! Kangaroo isn’t farmed for one, they’re better for the environment than cows (so not supporting cattle industry) and it manages their population in drought season , also they’re often dying anyway for bushmeat and pest control (they mess w farms sometimes like deer)so it’s wasteful not to use the skin, etc
@mrschuyler6 ай бұрын
@@Stridewise The bottom line is that you are killing an animal to get to the leather. To judge one animal "better" than another for the environment misses the point. I'm not going vegan on you. I like my filet mignon medium rare and I love my Iron Ranger boots. But to bring "ethics" into it by saying stuff like "they're often dying anyway" is just laughable.

@@Stridewise for your size maybe. From my experience once boot makers sell out of my size (13e so not the norm and viewed as not worth catering to) they don’t tend to restock. So I honestly doubt I’ll be seeing these in person.
