Oak street Bootmakers for me! I don’t have one of their leather soled ones but I’ve got the penny moc in Maryam horsebutt and holy cow I love these shoes lol. I can wear them business casual with slacks and a sport coat or shorts and tee or even as my alternative to cleats when I travel for rugby! Haha I will admit they look a little out of place on the pitch but when you’re traveling and space is a premium I love how they can do double duty. I was also surprised no mention of Blackstock and Weber Nice round up!

Thank you as always thorough vid. My Allen Edmonds cameron penny loafers are possibly the most comfortable shoes I own.

FWIW I know some traditionalists in the UK would have opinions on loafers with suits - see the media response to former PM David Cameron's preference for loafers - right now black tassel loafers are very popular in the City of London. To be more specific Crockett & Jones' Cavendish loafer in black, I think even with a thin rubber sole. The modern "city gents" love them and wear them with everything

Is that any particular reason related to socks? I heard european love wear loafer with no socks, so it makes the looks of the loafer more casual. While Americans wear it with socks, so its look a little bit formal?
@Molach1016 ай бұрын
@@ronaldo9120 I would suggest the "loafers with no socks" thing is more restricted to summer & more casual situations, that said every woman I've asked hates it when men wear loafers without socks so the stylishness of it is very subjective

I respect your style approach but would you ever look into a more Italian slim line approach with shoes and sneakers for the summer?

Have you tried loafers from Crockett & Jones? I think they work really well with business casual outfits. A tad less formal than your Carminas, and not as laid back as the GS or OSB.

I've had the GS traveler penny for a couple of months now. Even though they're a 9D just like my Diesel and plain toe blucher, they seem tighter than those other two. Especially in the tongue/instep area. Break in has been difficult for that reason. I think they're going to work out eventually, but I wonder if I should have gone to an E width?

Chunky loafers remind me of camp moccasins. Which look like deck shoes except they have lug soles instead of the herringbone tread. Just about everyone in Maine has a pair.

I have the Traveller and I like it a lot. I have two pairs of Randolfs (no tassels) in #8 shell and natty shell and they are perfect. I did have a pair of Carminas loafers on the Rain last but it was way too narrow for me and my wife hated how “European” they were. I also have an old pair of Floraheim loafers that are so soft and beat to hell but they are my ultimate take out the trash run to the grocer shoe.

If you haven’t tried them, Enzo also does great loafers. A lot of bang for the buck at their price point.

Please make a chunky loafer with a modern wide masculine silhouette that does not use rubber tread soles but classic leather soles, there’s maybe one i can think of but they are 350, it can be done for less by a company like Thursday

I picked up a pair of Weejun's lodgers at a thrift shop for $15. I know they're not the best leather, but I was pleased to find that they fit at TTS and stay on my feet, a first for me in loafers. I get it: simple, light, and I love me a true moc wrap under comfort.

I’m wondering what your thoughts would be on Blackstock and Webber loafers. New to the scene, but after searching for a chunky horsebit loafer I went with a pair a year or so ago and am pretty happy other than they have stretched out a bit. Anyway, great video again my dude. Cheers.

Astorflex is something I love the idea of, my feet for some reason seem incompatible with their Patnoflex. I actually bought a pair in size 9 initially but it ran too big. So okay, exchange for size 8. My brannock size is 8.5D mind you, but my feet STILL flopped out constantly while walking. The length of the shoe seemed okay but the issue was that there's so much room on the sides and therefore couldn't hug my feet in place, just too wide! Funny enough, I did wear those exact shoes for my own wedding (beach setting), but I settled for heel pads to make the fit last long enough for the wedding. Shame because I love the color and summer breezy vibe it gives, and there's not many alternatives that I've found yet.

Great video covering the different varieties of loafers. I didnt know Grant Stones were made in China. Too bad. That's a deal breaker for me. I have a pair of penny loafers from Acemarks that are too formal to wear with shorts so I'm looking into a more versatile loafer. Will look into Oak Street.
