thanks friend for making this video. Been playing flight sim's for over 20 years and somehow only found this game recently. I love that you don't have to spend 5 hours to learn to start up the plane but is still realistic enough to make it challenging. Love all your videos especially the Vietnam series.

Thank you., glad you like it, and glad you discovered it. I have a soft spot for what I call "Checklist Games" too, but recently they have been less fun and more tedious to me. I really enjoying having a lite sim that retains some realism but focuses more on the fun parts.

Yeah I've been meaning to. I haven't seen it in so long, I don't know how much effort it will take so that's made it a low priority. I'll take a look soon, I might even be able to clip things out in KZbin editor itself.

@Devin Horner The keyboard and Joystick controls are underneath the Controls folder and can be copied as well. This should make the keyboard setup a breeze.

Hi I hope its not too late but when I unpacked the desert storm mod it gave me a .iso file. although it says its at 100% it never actually finishes extracting and when I try t mount it it just says that the file is corrupted.

The page says to expect the iso file, but you should be able to unzip it with 7-zip or equivalent. If its not working, try downloading it again. It's been a while since I've messed with the big mods but sometimes they fix themselves with a fresh download and install

Can I set the year stateman to a precise month? Like January-February 1991? Cause even if I choose ‘91 as year for the mission, it does include all other months too, and if I get a medal (where it says the date) It often says other months too, like august, when the war was already over I’d like to set the date just to those of the actual war What can I do? Yes, go to your Mod folder and open the Campaigns folder. Open the DesertStorm_Data.ini and you can set the ending and starting dates. You can also adjust the mission rate to determine how often you fly. You may have to adjust the individual starting dates of the unit you want to fly in, which are found in both the .ini and the Data.ini. Play around with it and you should get a feel for making the dates work how you want. Best of luck.

@@ruggerorandisi7785 oh, it changes the days between missions. So like 7 is once a week and 1 is every day. I think you can even do less than one to fly multiple missions in one day, but I don't remember if I actually saw that or not

What does it change if I fly multiple missions per day? Many times when I get medals or awards the months are random: like yesterday I flew an intercept mission with the F15C and as soon as I finished I got the award medal screen. The date was on November 1991, and that is what I wanna change and customize, how do I do that? How do I change the month and day I wanna fly in single missions and not just the year?

As far as I know, you can only change the date of single missions in the mission editor, which is a separate dlc. But if you have that you could set the individual date. Other than that I don't know if there's a way to control it

My SF2 Europe controls bugged and they all appear unassigned. Even if I reassign them or even uninstall and reinstall the game they still don’t change. I have no idea where the controls files are, they’re not there, so I can’t even change them directly from the game folders. Also my North Atlantic controls are bugged, they work, but even if I personally bind them from the in-game settings, most will still work by pressing the default keys, not calculating I changed them. I have none of these problems in the base game tho, all controls set correctly and work with the keys I choose. What can I do for Europe and North Atlantic? You think that downloading OPDS and creating a new folder all my SF2 Europe settings will reset so that “unassigned” won’t appear anymore on any key and the binding I do will finally work? I’m so much confused and desperate since I can only play SF2 since the other two are unplayable at this state. Thank you very much for helping me out

The default control file is in your mod folder (users/yourname/Saved Games/Thirdwire/StrikeFighters2/) in the “Controls” folder. Maybe try deleting and replacing that. The mod folder isn’t automatically deleted when you uninstall so if there’s a problem there it would be persistent. Also under the main folder look at your Options.ini and scroll through to see if your [ControlOptions] has ControlMap=Default.INI

Do I need all DLC’s or all this games are included in the MOD? Do I need just the base game?

It's a little confusing but each of the separate games can be standalone OR merged into one. Each mod is usually designed for a specific game, they will specify in mod descriptions or readmes. I THINK Desert Storm uses the base game, but if it uses assets from Israel or Europe then that specific game would be the one you need.

@@devinhorner2358 I don’t know, cause I see there are planes like the Tomcat in OP Desert Storm that you can fly only if you buy the North Atlantic expansion. So I asked to myself: do I need NA or I can still fly the Tomcat just downloading the MOD to the base game? Is it the base game a sort of big addon that includes assets and planes from payware DLCs like North Atlantic?

@@ruggerorandisi7785 So yeah, for example I was looking in the readme again for the Desert Storm mod and it specifies that it needs a specific patch level and Strike Fighters 2: Europe to run. It says that North Atlantic is optional but not necessary. North Atlantic adds new functionality to the carrier fleets and some other stuff. I think that planes like the F-14 will be in the mod and won’t need NA. The different games are each standalone, they aren’t what we think of as modern DLC. NA was the only one that added new functionality to the original game.
