Aha great stuff Devin......LOVE the A4. While the Thud and Phantom are like big muscle cars, loads of power and very fast in a straight line, the scooter is more like a sporty little European roadster, you can throw it all over the sky and it'll go exactly where you want it.......and I LOVE it for that. Plus it's mad to think that just 25 years after WW2 this little one seat jet could carry the same or more bombload of a 10 man B17. PS......3 Bolters in a row Devin? Oh man the CAG is gonna be having words with you tonight 😀

Fantastic episode Devin, ah.. First bridge bombing operation against a bridge with an A4 Skyhawk.. you never forget that, first time I did this sort of thing in SF2 with the A4 Skyhawk, bombs only just hit the end of the target.. yeah bridges are a challenge in SF2 at times so.. no worries if you don't always hit the target dead on, it's trial and error.. even the best can be off target at times, you went out.. attacked the target and come home safely.. that's a victory in it's own right. That was one difficult experience with the carrier landing.. heart in the mouth moment.. but you survived.. got through it alive.. so.. Well done, another victory. Roll of the dice these operations, success or failure is decided on the roll of the dice.. high number.. success.. a low number.. a setback.. fog of war will decide what happens but it's smiled on you so far.. so.. that's something to be grateful for. Looking forward to the next episode, congrats on another episode, fly safe and happy hunting mate 👏 👍

Re: the bolters. I read a great passage in a book, I think it was Flight of the Intruder by Dean Koontz, where he describes an F-4 boltering like 4 times (while he was in pattern)! I know it's fiction but he was a real-life VN A-6 pilot, and that one sounded like it came from (frustrated) experience.

I think the plane was too heavy with fuel when landing, or at least that was part of it. I'm used to afterburners sucking every drop but planes like the A-1 and A-4 need more thoughtful fuel planning, so I'll try loading less next time.

Good stuff, as always! :) How much CPU and GPU memory do you have? My modded SF2 VN install suffers from bad lagging when flying over cities, lots of flak on when bombs explode.

I get that too. I have a feeling like it's not down to the machine but the way the game is coded, because I should have no issues with my 40xx cards and 32Gb RAM! Looking for a fix too.

Hi Mr. Horner, How did you get the A-6 to work for the previous campaign? Was it through the Superpack or RAZBAM? I'm unsure of which A-6 mod you used and how you didn't get it to explode on the ground. I keep running into an issue where my Intruders will immediately blow up on contact with the runway.

There is a "Flight of the Intruder" A-6 that you have to download separate from the Superpack, then drop it in. It's been a while but the location should be in the Pack readme. Or maybe doing an old fashioned search on CombatAce would bring it up.

I have strike fighters gold, im a bit lost with bombing :( is there a sight deflection, speed and angle chart somewhere?

Awesome as usual. Like you, the F105 is one of my favourite (if not my absolute favourite) aircraft, but how do you rate USAF missions against USN? For me, there's just something a little bit extra about flying off carriers, something I've loved doing since playing Microprose and Jane's sims in the 90's.

I do enjoy the extra challenge of carrier ops, so I often default to navy ops.
