HELLO EVERYONE!! Just as promised here is some updates made to the fimi x8se! I am really happy with this drone now that they have ironed out some of the bugs. The camera tilt is fixed, The app is much more stable, and F log makes its appearance!!! With those updates I am quite happy with this drone, its affordable and highly competitive. I'd put it right up there with the mavic air and pro!

It's for sure getting better. When I first got it in June I had a couple of minor crashes where it just took off on it's own and flew into a pine tree, good thing it was a soft fluffy pine tree. The 2nd time it just had super bad control and I was force to crash into the lawn, busted a prop on that one. Since the last few updates it has been a lot better. Still get odd compass interfered warnings one day at the same place and not the next. Solar Flares or sunspot activity? On my last flight over lake Michigan the gimbal still had a noticeable tilt check out my last video to see.

I preordered the Fimi X8 SE 2020 for $399.00. For that price point, I can deal with a few flaws. I have the Spark, Mavic Air and Mavic Pro and would rather try this drone over the Mavic Mini for the comparable price. I like the video quality of the Fimi straight out of the camera. If its all new software I'm sure updates will need to be implemented like all new drones when first released.

Maybe I missed it but in the first video you mentioned a delay on your screen when panning up or down with the Gimbal. Did the firmware updates fix that? Also have you used the intelligent flight modes? If so how are they compared to the other drones like the DJI Mavics? Lastly how is the integration with Google maps...pretty smooth? Can you save the tracks? I have an older drone so I dont have any of these features. I may get this one based on your review! Great job. I just subscribed after finding your videos.

The delay and video breakups are a side effect of using extended-range Wi-Fi for video transmission. I've noticed this with my mavic air and parrot anafi as well. Drones that use ocusync like the mavic pro/pro 2 have much better video streams. As for the intelligent flight modes I dont play with them too much, but DJI really has the best technology when it comes to intelligent flight mode. As for tracking it stays up to date on the mini-map pretty well but I can't remember if you can save the routes you've flown or not. I don't think you can.

Does this drone have any type of geo fencing or no fly zone software in it? I’ve had my part 107 for nearly 3 years and run into jobs sometimes where it’s a hassle to fly and unlock due to the Dji products. I usually fly with an iPad mini that doesn’t have cellular, so on location unlocking is not always available. Would be nice to have something that I know will not hinder me from flying when I am on location and need to shoot.

Im not sure. I dont see anything in the settings that would limit where you could fly. Where I live I can fly both (dji and fimi) with no software restrictions. Sorry my answer is inconclusive.

I personally never noticed a blue hue to any of my videos. if anything my only critique is some videos are slightly underexposed and can be brightened in editing software. I leave white balance on auto and it seems to work fine. I think the florescent color setting looks quite blue but again I just leave on auto.

Its kind of a long story. The place i used to work for sold parrot disco. We had to open one so we could have an empty box on the shelf. Then we had to transfer it to another store. But the wing was misplaced and not included in the shipment! so when the company closed I bough it for $0.05!

I had the phantom 3 4k (which is similar but different to the 3 advanced) id probably choose the Fimi x8 se over it. the fimi will out preform in video quality, flight time, portability.

This way outperforms the phantom 3. It’s closest competition is the zino which this easily beats, the mavic air which this also beats price wise, and the mavic pro 1. Now which is better this or the mavic largely depends on your budget. Obviously the mavic is better but you’re paying a lot more just for forward facing sensors.

Is it possible to disable the cheap over-sharpening effect? It looks too un-cinematic This camera has a lot of potential, but the edgy over-sharpening effect makes it look like a phone I'll buy it if you can disable that or set sharpening to -10. All examples I've seen on KZbin look bad.

Some of that is do to resizing 4k video down to 1080p it will look extra sharp. in camera you can change contrast and saturation. if you want to make the image softer you would need to edit the video in video editing software.

@@StrikerBladeCo I'm working in 6K today with the Panasonic S1H and BMPCC 6K. I have not used 1080p since 2015. There's 0% chance of using 1080p for anything. You cannot make the image softer in post processing because it's destructive and does not remove the aliasing or moire, it causes more edge halation and makes the image even cheaper.

Hello.u had good couple flyes with fimi x8. I have problem and I dont know reason. When im flying even not far. Lens say 100m everything is ok. No lag on fpv signal Full baytery around 50% and then sudenly I lose signal. Screen goes black info not connected no details about high or how far everything is n/a, buttons on controller turn red and I have no Control over the drone at all. I can not do anything. It will RTH alright and then I have to turn everything off and on again. It happen twice when I had around 10 flight. Did u or anyone else had that issue?

I did not have that issue. I'm not sure what might be causing that. sounds like interference. are you flying near radio towers?

hmm. Thats a Tough one. Im not sure why it would be doing that. I'd check some other forums and see if anybody else is having that problem. maybe its a a bad unit.

Long way to go to comoare DJI.Its a gd drone for flying but not for video.

Its video is better than the mavic pro, and probably the mavic air. The mavic 2 and Phantom platforms are still unbeatable!!

I have only owned this since owned This drone for 5 months. I haven't flown it a ton, but I haven't noticed any noticeable changes in flight time. if im flying fast it will use the battery quicker though.

The drone flew a little odd when I first got it. but after a few updates it handled really well. It could be piloting error in those other videos. Who knows!!
