Stringbean was another in a long line of great country singers from the Bluegrass State and his senseless murder robbed the world of so much joy. I love this song and one that always reminds me of String and brings a smile to my face everytime!

I’ve listened to the first version by the composer, Bob Miller (1928), when it was seven cents. Then several where the cotton was eleven cents. Stringbean’s version is by far the best.
