Striper trolling at New Hogan Lake. Very Effective method

I live by hogan and fish there regularly. I have yet to ever catch a striper there so i appreciate your video amd am going to try your technique. Does it matter how deep the water is where you troll? Do you troll out to the middle or how far off shore? If you could please give me some tips id much appreciate it

@@turboty209 find the area where the water is about 20 to 50 feet deep. Not in the middle of the lake. Usually, fish do not stay in the very deep water area. You have to have a fish finder, so it will tell you how deep the water is and how deep the fish are. My method, 1.5 mph with 2 ounces weight, 50 feet back line should give you about 19 to 20 feet deep. You can adjust to 40 or 60 feet back or sometime even 30 feet back. Depends on how deep the fish are. You cannot just let go a bunch of line out. It won’t work that way. The Chevron gas station on Hwy 26 in Valley Springs has frozen shad. @@lvueoutdoors3528 been.out here for 4 hrs. Speed between 1.2 and 1.7. Shad 4 ft behind 2oz 50 ft out on 1 rod 40 out on another no bites yet. Staying between 20 and 50 ft of water

You’re back at it again . Nice catch ! I caught 5 Stripers good size 2 weeks ago. Best time to catch em is early morning I left Modesto at 4:30 am before it starts to warm up

Hi. Yes I did just got 1 bite didn’t hook it. I make my own flys compared to JoeShow flys I caught 5 Stripers and uncle noting 😂. I’ve been successful with it. I’m going to be there at Hogan early morning I try it again with shad

I caught 14 on Sunday 7-21 . mostly was too small to keep like 12-14 inches at coyote point . Then I caught 4 stripers 19-22 inches size at Dam near Headquarters water was cooler like 140 feet deep . I caught 1 with shad 80 feet out trolling but I lost the fish ! 😢 but mostly I did good with my own fly lure stripping 😊
