You should put clean bearing grease on the tap threads to capture all the shavings.

This is why I do my own oil changes. When we bought our last new car it came with 4 free oil changes at the dealership. No way I was going to take it to the dealership even for "free" oil changes. My neighbor had a big oil spot in his drive way. I asked him about it and he said "The oil change shop stripped the threads now I need a new oil pan".
