Stainless steel becomes magnetic during the machining process, especially during the forging process, which is why the heads are The screws are attracted to the magnet because they are forged by the machine.

Replacing ribbon cable is much easier than trying to repair it. A call to the manufacturer for replacement cables might be an easy solution. Also, ribbon cables like those are always in computer towers. Check computer repair stores for them.
@MatthewK8635 күн бұрын
That ribbon is part of a flexible printed circuit board, the 2ish inch wide green cable is all part of the buttons/leds or whatever is on the whole front panel. So the whole panel needs opened to replace it.

Nice payout. Those stainless steel plugs are interesting pickup and that huge bag of hardware and hydraulic fluid are nice scores. Hardware is getting expensive at Home Depot. Tell Steve I said congrats on selling the generator.

Also, think about that oil filter press...it's taking up some good real estate. you pay rent for that sq ft'age. That machine is getting more and more expensive every day in ''rent''. Maybe convert it , strip it down for press parts and contorls or sell it.

You should take a couple days off and relax but what you really need to do is find you like a nice lady secretary to help you try to sell some of that a high dollar.Items off maybe you could just hire that part time but a little office personnel never hurts . The ribbon wire is common. Any appliance main brain bord i'm sure you're able to order it off the internet, or even amazon .

You can always try contacting selling radwell and see how much they woudl offer you for the breakers and contactors. You fill ut a spreadsheetof what you have, mail them the parts and they mail you a check(if you accept their offer). Wouldn't get enough as much as if you sold them yourself. But you wouldn't have to keep them on your shelf and deal with the selling yourself. Just a thought.

@@ProjectShopFl The gray cable is standard. The connectors on the end are 2 parts. Some separate easily. Reassembly is even easier. No soldering, line it up and squeeze the 2 halves together with pliers. Had to do it once years ago.

Splice ribbon wire with similar size wire. If TOO THICK you run into resistance issues. Put Oscar on it. Old school computers use to have individual wires. 😊 I grew up watching my Dad playing around making PCs in 60s 70s. Now WAIT! WHAT DID I TYPE EARLIER!???? SCRAPE da BIG O GREEN thinggy mice ate yummy ribbon wires. And let cat Lady know her pussays are SLACKING! You're a hard worker. Keep up AWSOME WORK ETHICS! Please STOP making extra work for yourself. Moving things around....my rule is IF I HAVEN'T USED THINGS IN A YEAR GET RID OF IT! Is it for new shop? HAVE YOU SERIOUSLY LOOKED FOR BUILDING? About the 💩 battery. TOSS THE POS! YOU HAVE ME YELLING AT TV AND SCARING MY CAT! 😮😊

Now I just wrote all of this but I deleted it because I’m old. The atomic weight of copper(CU) is roughly 63.5, the atomic weight for lead (PB)=207…207/63.5=3.24… so you had a 10# bar CU x 3.24 should equate to roughly a 32.4# bar of PB,unless of course my brain has decomposed to between the z and h in Alzheimer’s and I’m completely mistaken. I like that sweet can light,I just fkn knew Steve had that hatchet you are lucky it didn’t wind up at the scrap yard. 100% you can just buy those ribbon wires maybe some dork numbers on there some computer geek shop make them. Sometime when you are in Orlando with scrap you outta go to this scrap yard I think it’s H and S,it’s by the speedway,there is a guy on YT(non-ferrous Jeff) that has a channel and videos all day I think it would be some really fun content,you are basically a star over there they would freak out if you rolled in and they pay well. It would be like on Happy Days you would be like Laverne and Shirley rolling into Al’s to make a guest appearance😂

Those ribbon cables are 100% replace never repair. Also you need to hire an eBay guy to sell all the fixtures and bulbs so much money being thrown out. As a reseller myself I’ve watched you scrap thousands of dollars for pennies. eBay is an easy business once you learn the nuances but you need a dedicated person to deal with the headache side of it.
