Please keep me in prayer, upon the advise of my therapist and my wife, I've begun the process of applying for SSI and now I've begun to deal with so much shame and guilt, that I'm such a failure, I'm lazy and a waste. I don't know if God is telling me not to do it, or if it's just my mental illness attacking me like it does whenever I ask for help.

Praying for you friend. You know down deep in your heart what you need to do. Find comfort in that and let God handle the rest. Some people are unable to work bc of mental illness… many people. If that is what’s right for you and your family, go for it. We attach our purpose to a title and a paycheck. That shoes are worth/value. You are so much more than that. You are Gods child. If you move left and should have stayed right… He will lovingly let you know.
