Went through all this stuff 5 years ago, my recovery was very fast (unexoectedly so given the amount of brain danage). The insight demonstrated on this channel is genuinely impressive, wish I'd had this quality of advice after my stroke.

Thank you so much. Your videos are a God sent because they are so helpful. My walking has been unstable since 2015. At that time I had a brain tumor operation. My range of motion has been hampered. Of course having a drop foot and lots of spasticity in the legs doesn't help.I hope you continue what you're doing.

Thank you very much. I’ve really gone backwards, Following the loss of my new baby grandson. I’ve just gone back to old exercises and am starting again. I know I can get it back again. I’ve done it once I can do it again. I had no idea it could affect a neurological problem this way.

Lynne, I am sorry to hear about your loss. Yes, life happens and we get off track. That is OK. The great thing is that you seem like you are ready to get back on the wagon!!! As you said, if you did it once, you CAN do it again.

Dr. Tara, I find this video especially helpful, as the hip is so underserved in practice. In the first two months after the stroke, in a hospital bed, I could not turn in bed at all and was told to lay on the back, which led to severe back pain. In the months after, I had to teach myself to gently swing over the leg in bed and that was really dangerous, with super little control and strange noises in the bones. Now, educated and very self-research--informed about what has happened, still I have to work on the hip control as part of the natural walking process. Perhaps you can make a video for the hip through all stages of recovery, especially for the patients in early stages. I love to do your stretch and move exercises on the bed in the morning and evening.

Thanks again for a fantastic video with a great explaination of the progressions in order to walk again properly. As a disabled/ retired home builder I totally understand the concept and need for progressive moves. While I am walking and have been for quite a while. I have not graduated to walking without my AFO. I'm still working on that

Thanks for watching this one and for sharing! This is the first you have mentioned that you were a home builder. That definitely helps you. Our bodies are nothing but a smaller version of a house. Whatever you know is important to keep a house upright, you can apply that to your body. ;) I hope that makes sense. But now that I know your background, I will include more construction analogies. There are soooo many. :)

Tall kneeling is hard to do without assistance. Maybe someday I can do it. Like your videos but not for massive victim. Continue on. It gives me hope to carry on. Love from Lydia.

Dr.Tara ,I am a 62 year old female ,I had surgery in 2016 for lesion in spinal cord d7 d8 and thereafter was paralyzed waist down. Through phsiyo therepy I have gained to some extent but after 4 years I still don't have balance to stand unassisted and I walk in walker with great difficulty due to spaticity in my legs. Please suggest some exercises for balance and ease my tightness . I get tired walking even a short distance. I keep watching your videos.
