Bogenbay Batyr Avenue is a thoroughfare approximately 4.4 kilometers long, located in the northwest part of the city. It was named in 2004 in honor of the national hero of Kazakhstan, the great Kazakh military leader and commander-in-chief of the armies, Batyr Kanjygaly Bogenbay.
Prior to 1991, the avenue was named «Pyatiletki» street. It starts from the side of the Astrakhansky Highway (northwest) and ends towards the Alash Highway (northeast).
