The pedestrian bridge "Atyrau" was opened in July 2018. The new bridge is a gift from the Atyrau Region Akimat to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the capital. The bridge's outer shell resembles fish scales - the symbol of the Atyrau Region. Its decorative structure consists of 2450 aluminum petals, each with a unique shape. When you walk inside, you'll feel as if you're inside a large fish.
The bridge is designed in the biotech style, which incorporates organic natural forms in architecture. The bridge's shell features the "flower of life" pattern, following the Fibonacci sequence, also known as the golden ratio. On the side facing the park and amphitheater, there is a monument to the Caspian sturgeon, symbolizing Atyrau.
The total length of the pedestrian bridge is 313.5 meters, with a width of 10.5 meters. The structure includes a six-meter pedestrian lane, a three-meter bicycle lane, a 0.5-meter safety lane, and two 0.5-meter lanes for railing installation. The metal structure weighs 1,920 tons.
