While attending the (e)revolution electric bike show in Denver Colorado, I got to connect with Stromer to learn more about their ST7 electric bike. I learned that the company skipped the ST4 and ST6, and that they are using the Pinion gearbox system for their latest model. This bike offers many of the same features that Stromer has been known for including high speed Class 3 28mph 45km/h operation, powerful integrated lights, premium tubular aluminum alloy fenders, an sturdy inverted suspension fork, the color touch screen OMNI display panel and smartphone app, GPS and theft detection, USB-C charging port below the top tube, and durable Pirelli tires. The gears are shifted electronically, and you can see the gear on the OMNI LCD display, it can also be setup to downshift whenever you stop. Pinion can be shifted at standstill :)

Thanks for showing us this new Stromer…great design! Although it’s expensive, it’s always good to see what’s going in all aspects of the E-bike world.

Nice bike. Just bought it here in Switzerland and have done 2000kms. It's my 7th Stromer. Ok 1) the brakes don't squeal (a first in 7 years of Stromers from ST1 up to ST5). 2) Gear changing is a doddle now it's a belt. 3) Autonomy is 78kms in Sports mode after an all-night charge. BUT and here is the big "but":- It's a huge design fault when you get only 12kms in Sports Mode before the motor heats up and turns the mode off leaving gears 1 to 3 only. (Sports Mode is a huge difference to Gear 3 and is much more sensitive and rapid). Then you are left with 66kms with NO Sports Mode available because the motor remains too hot for the WHOLE of the rest of your trip. Yes you can reset it by turning the bike off and leaving it for 30 minutes to cool down (it won't). But that takes 30 minutes minimum (stuck on a bench in the country) and then you get (maybe) another 6kms before it does it again. This is in ambient temperatures from 15C (14kms) to 39C (12kms). And no, i am not driving it hard. It's impossible to get past 48kph anyway as it is maxxed by the software. It's just a normal 45kph max. If you spend 15k on a bike like this and cannot realise its full potential for 85% of your trip then that's disappointing. This is a top of the range bike price-wise. How would you like your 1479bhp Bugatti Chiron to have ONLY 221 bhp (VW GTI) for 85% of your daily driving? Thought not.......... So, Stromer get your act together and stop minimising our pleasure - redesign the phuccin motor please. I have spent enough on your bikes, so you can do that JUST for me and then the whole World will be happy.... Cheers.

I have ST7 too, use S mode quite often, but i never had the motor overheating. Just never. Commuting by bike to the office on a daily basis (200km a week). Perhaps you have lots of hills and mountains around you? I have collegue having ST7 too, he never had an issue with S mode either

They just don't know how to build a proper working bike ar Stromer, that's their problem...instead of spending all that money on commercial and marketing they should spend it on hiring people that know their stuff...Stromer owners , CEOs, are just a bunch of w..ers that wanna steal your money with falls promises and false advertising

If you want the suspension fork it’s another $1,100 and the seat suspension $249! But hey pedals, the fast charger and a side mirror are included. Also you can get a whopping $10 off your next order if you sign up for emails.

Oh, I just thought it would cost much more because it's a big partnership. Red Bull Racing is a huge brand, and the bike includes the special pannier bag and is such low volume. In the context of a $15k ebike, an extra $1k seems small... but yeah, that's still a lot of money :)

In 2018 I bought the then top of the line Stromer ST2S for € 10.000. Since then my employer paid me €17 tax free for every day I used my bike to come to work (€0,24/km, round trip is about 70 km). The bike has payed for itself, still going strong. Tempted by the red bull special edition, but going to keep on trucking with my old trusty steed for now.

Gold is my favourite colour and it honestly looks incredible. I do love the entire look of the bike and the tech is great too, however I cannot justify that price of around $13,000+ I simply do not make nearly enough money to even be able to consider affording that. My currently ebike was just under $2,000 and my Honda Civic was around $10,000.

a stromer st1 does 28 mph, costs 5000euro in europe. This one does 28 mph costs 12000 euro in europe. I just don't understand where the massive price increase comes from. It has a bigger motor and battery. looks a bit nicer. but over twice as much nicer? i don't think so

He lost me at $14000, but i at least watched the entire video to the end. People buy exotic cars just to show they own one. Those same people will buy this bike, and probly wont be ridden much. How practical is a $14000 ebike for the average Joe?

Lightweight is where it's at. This massive, heavy, bulky thing will look so outdated in a couple years. 1.4 kWh is so unnecessary. Nobody is riding 160 miles on a commuter bike. Big miss on the approach imo.

Was this done at Euro Bike 2023? That is a heavy bike, but for 14K, it should be my primary mode of transportation daily, anywhere, and anytime. I really like the Pinion MGU on this bike. When will American bike builders start using it? Not only that, but I am sure it adds several thousand dollars to the bottom line. Have you reviewed Biktrix?

I think this is an exaggeration to make a point, but it falls somewhat flat. I am unaware of a street-legal car capable of highway speeds being made anywhere in the world that costs $14K USD. The cheapest Fiat starts at $27,965. Hopefully, as ebikes become more common, people will begin to understand that, like cars, they come in a range of prices, styles, and models to suit those looking for basic transportation up to those looking for the latest/greatest high end lux model. Court is one of the only reviewers I know covering the entire spectrum. It's too bad for him that most of the KZbin demographic happen to be people who can't afford a bike like this, and feel they have to complain about it. Ironically, in the background you can see the Lectric ebikes, a company that makes good ebikes for $799-$1599. Check them out.

Sports mode broke after 16kms in 32 ambient today and I was being SUPER slow, as if that's possible. This thing is over-torqued (52nm) and its motor "air-cooling" (!) flaw is now getting very effin annoying. After 2300kms I expect it to have run-in and all firmware limiting to be cancelled. To my mind it's not even fixable. You cannot drill disc-brake type air-holes in the motor casing cos of the rain. You either live with it or stop every 20 mins for a 30 to 60 minute wait with battery out of bike to cool down. Those illegal (in Switz) Revolution XX and Stealth bikes now seem quite attractive. 15000 francs for 20 minutes of fun and then 70 more of struggling (when you get to MY age) because S-Mode is not available is commonly known as a con. I have a new name for Sports Mode:- 'Crippled Mode'

If these guys thought the market could bear it, they'd price this bike at $25,000. Even then some buyers would purchase it just to show they could afford it. Sadly, that is the target market...dilettantes, not dedicated e-bike enthusiasts. No doubt this bike has an excellent feature set along with terrific fit and finish but frankly, the price is ludicrous. It makes Apple's upcoming Vision Pro Headset look like a bargain in comparison.

@HackHunter1835
@HackHunter1835 Жыл бұрын
Court does his homework on any and every bike he reviews. He can look at components and tell you the part number if you asked. You might be use to watching other ebike youtube channels that the creators dont have 1/8 the amount of product knowledge Court has, which you know. Because of his vast product knowledge that he brings to these kinds of interviews, i think it adds a lot of good content for shoppers. Does he know more than the Rep? Maybe not. I personally believe Court already knows the answer to his question to the Rep because he is just trying to educate prospective byers of the bike. "Just let the Rep talk?" Thats not Courts style, he like to control the room IMO 😎

Yeah, I dislike talking over people and try not to rush things… unfortunately there were many aspects that this rep wasn’t as educated on or just wasn’t mentioning on his own (like the brakes) I wanted to be thorough, I wanted him to look good, and we had limited time. The reason it might seem like I’m interrupting is because I edited the video to remove a couple of parts where he said “you’ll have to ask the engineers”.
