Some people really don't understand the importance of the navy over the army. Although the army is ultimately our strongest line of defense, the navy is the only way other nations can travel aborad the seas to invade a country. Paradropping is ultimately weak if you don't have a strong navy, because you still need supply chains. The only way supply gets to the invader is by sea.

A regular day in the Navy consists of trying to look busy, not falling down ladderwells, saluting JOs that have no clue what they're doing just like you, attempting to justify all your bad decisions in your mind, being called Warfighters on the 1MC every morning on a ship that hasn't been to sea for 5+ years, and walking in on your roommate in the evening blacked out drunk on the floor drowning in his own vomit pissing himself. The benefits package though when you get out though is still nice and if you don't have a plan and serious about education it can be a good option. If you're looking for a regular job though there are better financial options out there as in trades. Navy is a good stepping stone though for anyone but being a lifer seems to be more impractical for various reasons.

Rife with hypocrisy, unorganized, and Dangerous; Not because of the things you might think, but because of neglect; poor maintenance; terrible communication; etc. The Marine Corp really isnt what many believe it to be. Its the only obsolete branch, yet is still somehow extremely pretentious and arrogant towards the other despite that. It really doesn't have a distinct purpose and it's not all it seems.

Amphibious warfare and EABO. The Army doesn’t specialize itself in this type of warfare, and because of this the USMC will never become obsolete.
