In this video we test our strength on something other than a barbell. We lift odd objects that test the strength of our legs, upper body, and grip.
Stay tuned for part 2 where we test our back strength and our conditioning/endurance.

+Alan Thrall (Untamed Strength) Hey, Allen I've ask you about this before but would you consider doing a few videos about mental preparation and mind set for lifting. I know its a deeper subject but I think it could be a fascinating subject for a lot of people and add real dept to your channel. No one else has done anything like that before ( That I know of. ) and its I something think thats kinda missing in fitness/lifting culture. Maybe interviewing some of your lifting peers when you do partnership videos. On the other hand I can see how some people might be turned of by a grown man who has a deep appreciation for self improvement and who reads books. Love your channel man.

Alan, have you ever done a strict training cycle with the axle bar DL? And if so, did you see a lot of carryover to regular, Olympic bar deadlifts?
@AlanThrall
@AlanThrall 8 жыл бұрын
No I haven't. It would not help the barbell deadlift. You'd be limiting your potential to lift heavy weight using an axle

Does anyone know if there is a way or a certain competition they do where points/lifts can be adjusted for weight? So for example if you do heavier weight it's worth more points but if you can rep out smaller weight it can counteract the weight. I saw the one guy who couldn't quite do the heavier weight like everyone else. If there was a way for him to possibly rep out slightly lighter weight it could make it a little more interesting.

That is a very ignorant comment. You must take into consideration that people who train strongman events don't just max out, they train and condition themselves to be able to do what they do. Just as any other sport. The risk of injury happens when people get too ahead of themselves and do something they aren't ready for. I suppose you obviously do not do Strongman so your comment holds no water.

Tyeler is probably really barbell strong, but strong man is stuff they tell us not to do in powerlifting so that switch is really hard. Like with that keg movement you guys are hitching wich is good in strong man but in powerlifting that's a big NO.

Hi Alan, I was water polo player but i tear my meniscus and i quit team 2 years ago. I start training again 3 months ago with powerlifting is squat and deadlift bad for me or they will help my knee with strengthen my legs? And how can i improve my leg strength without damaging my knee?

I used to do that tire exercise when I was younger. Except they were bike tires. And the tires were attached to my bike to be used for riding around town. And they had tubes in them, typically filled with some sort of Slime rip off.

Pretty sure the ancient rules of Strong Man say when you go to sudden death keg press the loser is required to let the failed attempt crush them. Preeeeeeeetty sure that's what the scrolls say. You can't invoke sudden death and not mean it.
