The fact that jester bodied so many people with his simple barrier magic shows how skilled and adept his understanding of his magical attribute he has a vast experience in fact it is quite a versatile magic to use

If you look at his medals, he's the wizard king with the most, so his feats and archivements in the days he was alive must have been amazing. According to his past in the novel that came out with the movie, he was someone who did do a lot of research and contributed a lot to the creation of magical tools.

Cause he said that he was just going easy on them even when he brought out that 2nd huge ass ice creature that was even bigger than the first one (like 10x bigger). I also have a feeling that he is from the Silva family as well because of the bond he and Noelle had even in that short time. That plus his white hair and ice magic, which is kinda close to water magic.

Here's a little backstories to know the Wizard Kings better since it wasn't shown in the movie. First is Conrad. Conrad Leto was from a noble family but he was shunned for his magic.. "They" said his key magic is a thief's magic.. Fast forward, he became a magic knight and became a captain of a squad named White Serpent.. He married his vice captain which is a commoner.. But nobles and royals still didn't like him until he gain enough merit recognised by the public and was crowned as the 27th Wizard King.. During this time, he did what a Wizard King will do. He tried to create an equal world but ultimately failed. One day, his squad was given a mission but turns out it was a trap made by royals. His wife and his whole squad was killed. Leaving him in absolute despair. That's when he decided to change the world by rebuilding it... And the rest is history... Next, is Princia Funnybunny. She also came from a noble family who were leaving peacefully with it's people. They live in a rich land but the Royals want it for themselves. Because of the harassment to her family, she decided to become a Magic Knight to protect them. Eventually gaining merits to become a captain and becoming the 11th Wizard King or Queen... Then there comes the war with the Diamond Kingdom. She was send to the front line and completely destroyed the enemy. On the other hand, her family and people was taken hostage by the enemy but this truth was hidden from her because they don't want her to leave the front line. After learning the truth, she was enraged and kill everyone. Her title was strip and she was jailed with her magic being sealed. Eventually, the village where she was jailed were attacked by an enemy where she died. Next is Jester Garandos... Like others, he was from a prestigious noble family. He became a magic knight and also gain two friends. Raid and Tenor both from a poor standing. One day, Tenor's village was raided by the Diamond Kingdom but the royals disregard it. And since he's a magic knight, he tried to save them but failed on saving his friend's life. Eventually, he became the 16th Wizard King. His friend village was attack again but it turns out to be a trap. And it was revealed that is was staged by his other friend who turns out to be a spy. To prevent future tragedies like this, he tried to conquer all for kingdoms but royals conspired against him and eventually killing him. Lastly is Edward Avalanche which was also from a noble family. Upon seeing the hardships of the people without Magical abilities, he was deeply move. He became a priest and devoted his life in an orphanage. Everything is peaceful.... Until it wasn't. Their village was attacked by the one and only Diamond Kingdom where all the orphans died. He soon became a Magic Knight and eventually became the 20th Wizard King. Like the other wizard kings, he wants get rid of the social division in the kingdom. But again, the Royals and nobles are against it. He was stripped on his title and lead a resistance again the kingdom. But eventually was captured and executed.

Jester is the real deal and only lose because Conrad undone their resurrection spell. He was called the mad king due to the fact that he wants to conquer all kingdom in order to unite them under one leader to avoid more war with other kingdom. His backstory is interesting as he did this for his best friends and one of them betrayed him.

Tabata sensei supervised the film, and it is actually canon to the Black Clover story-line! Apparently he wanted to include this in the manga, but decided against it but it later was used as the film we have today. Canonically, it takes place between Vol.23 and Vol.24 - the end of the Elf Saga, and the beginning of the Spade Saga, during the 6 months time skip. iirc those who went to see the first screenings of the film got Vol.23.5 which contains the backstories for the 4 previous WKs The Backstories of the Previous Wizard Kings in the Novel: • Conrad: Conrad was born into a noble family but due to his thief-like unlocking magic, he was shunned by those around him, leading to a lonely childhood. As he grew older, he discovered the true value of key magic but as people feared its power, the gap between him and those surrounding him was never bridged. Conrad joined the magic knights, where he met a young Julius and a caring young woman from the forsaken realm, Lovilia. Conrad learnt to trust these two and as a result, began to open up to those around him. Conrad kept gaining achievements together with his companions and eventually became the magic knights captain of the squad "White Serpent". Conrad's life was going smooth while married to his vice captain Lovilia, one day received a mission for his squad. However, it turned out to be a trap set by the royal faction, who hated him. Devastated at the loss of Lovilia and dozens of members of his squad during this mission, Conrad became consumed with anger. Despite Julius's desperate attempts to persuade him, Conrad's darkness deepened. To eradicate discrimination and prejudice, and build a country where everyone can laugh together-Conrad, now the Wizard King, aimed to achieve his ideals. Being undefeated, her fame grew day by day and in order to strengthen their influence, the royal faction half-forcibly installed her as the Wizard King. As the war with the Diamond Kingdom reached its final stages, Princia's family and people from her land were taken hostage by the enemy. However, the generals, fearing that Princia would leave the front lines, decided not to tell her this. Thus, Princia lost something precious in exchange for victory... Princia, exploding with anger towards her strategists, got stripped of her title as Wizard King and imprisoned with her magic sealed. The village where she was imprisoned was attacked one day by bandits, whom she decided to fight despite her magic being sealed, sacrificing her life in the process. • Edward: Edward was a man with a promising future, but he had no interest in pursuing a career and spent most of his time in church listening to the sermons of priests. When he learns of the harsh conditions faced by those without magic power, he decided to leave his home and become a priest, taking in orphaned children and caring for them. Ten years later, in the midst of intensifying war with the Diamond Kingdom, a sudden tragedy happened. Edward's orphanage fell victim to an enemy raid, and the children lost their lives. For the first time in his life, Edward used magic with all his might to destroy the enemy, and decided to join the magic knights to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. Edward, who's generous and always there for the weak, is well-liked by the people and eventually became the Wizard King. However, royalty and nobility strongly opposed his aim of eliminating the boundaries between the royal, common and forsaken realms. Through their scheming, Edward was stripped of his position as the Wizard King. Having abandoned his faith in God, Edward formed a resistance to seek revenge against the royals and nobles who plotted against him. He continues to eliminate those in power, believing that it is the only way to save their corrupted heart. However, this was not long-lived and he was eventually captured and executed

People saying it's shit... It's not the best, but it's not shit. The story telling is what is putting the people off, there was no clear timeline of when this was, obviously before captain was abducted but also before asta got control of his demon. Yet he has that arm effect at the end, pretty blury.

Those things you mentioned were quite clearly shown in the movie itself Timeline is supposed to be after the elves arc since its kid Julius and not adult Julius. In the movie also it mentioned that Asta's devil trial is going on. William and Yami were also not captured. If you put all of these together you can clearly tell that it happened during the 6 months time skip. Asta's devil arm in this movie is a one time thing. He made no contract with Liebe like he did in ep 167. Liebe was just helping Asta since hes basically losing against Conrad Or maybe the problem is with the order you watched it. If you were to watch in chronological order then everything will feel normal

Also the movie was originally supposed to be in the land of the sun so i believe they probably were held back due to scrapping the plot. Black clover has the best female characters in shonen, they arent just strong cry babies like sakura, they are strong and actually carry. Thats how you right females, its funny that i was more hyped to see sis lion fight than the main character of the show/movie😂.
