Hey, that’s the same chipping hammer I use! Lol but really thanks for helping dispel myths about flux core. I’ve only ever worked with other people in cushy shops but on my own I’ve made some serious money outdoors and know that FCAW gets the job done as well as any other setup. Just like aluminum welding, not harder just different and you gotta learn how it likes to be run.

@jetweldingllc4691
@jetweldingllc4691 Жыл бұрын
Enrique, What Going on, 232, I hate to tell you this but I don't run 232 I run 233,5/64 Diameter, only in Overhead and vertical only, All my flat and horizontal welding is done by NR305, But if I have a welded connection that has a little bit of flat I will run it, Is 27 V, 200ft lead, That's how I judge my settings if I am running 50' of welding lead I probably will be in 24 V25V I really don't know I have to experiment, You should have 3/4 of stick out, Work on your angle of your goose neck, Make sure you hold your sides till it fills out, don't be afraid of it you have to be f****** patient, I don't think you'll have a problem at all what you DID with the dual shield you're unstoppable!

I was always told that when doing your bottom flange, not to build up one side at a time. So after my root, I'd put 2 passes on one side, 3 on the other, bouncing back and forth while avoiding stopping the weld at one spot.

Hey 👋. Northern Michigan here. Question, how often do they QC the welds? Is it every weld? Also, are you required to run Flux core? Or could you use SMAW? I'm guessing you guys use the Flux core due to speed....just curious. I know wire is much faster. Again...just curious. Welding is where it is at! I feel like I'm to old now to change careers...I weld as much as I can on the side. I get discouraged sometimes thinking about what could have been if I had been given the opportunity to learn the trade through the high school I attended back in the nineties. I tell myself....better to have learned it late in my life than to have never learned it at all. Happy welding friend. May Abba Father have mercy on us all.

Chuck, thank you for reaching out to me, I am sorry I did not get back to you sooner, but I’m super busy at work working hours, softball is king right now for my daughter playing for the OC Bat Busters and she’s my last one to get out of the nest out of six, I would love to experience working out of local 433, i’ve been talking to a couple of men, and I do not see much of the welding from the West Coast, but the pictures that I have seen through the years through the ironworker magazine it’s impressive, I would have to look back a man out of 433 said Frankie, you can hang with us and it would be an honor to work on a nice killer fluxcore project, Chuck, I have one more year before my daughter Ava will be committed for academic and softball scholarship to a D321 school and then I’m free to work with some of the best union ironworkers in the United States of America, that’s my goal. I have to work out of 433 before I retire. Oh, and by the way, Chuck, you are not a old has been. You are part of the foundation that Got us to where we are at today and these men that you brought in and helped and worked with need to carry this for our future ,for our grandchildren ,for the union ironworker industry that built America and now for the next hundred years, we are rebuilding the infrastructure that are for fathers in our industry of the union worker built thank you for doing what you did to make our union ironworker industry grow Chuck, you enjoy your retirement, and thank you again for reaching out. I’m doing my best to produce talent for a union and ironworker industry

Beam chairs have been around a long time just like floats, but seeing your taped up fingers the old saying, you can tell the Joe's by their fingers and their toes, no disrespect brother, I'm a iron dog from Local 433 20 years in the trade and over 20 years as a construction inspector for the city of LA, 7 more years and I'm done.

Pha ki, What's going on, There's a difference from a beam chair, To the pic system I use, In 1988 Cornell Had their own design their own beam chair out of round stock, If you see the video( where I started) You will see the pictures of the bean chair, I designed The godfather in 1996, Cause the diagonal tubes were being used on this one job ,BRB at University of Penn in philly, They decked over the floor and shot the studs, that system Cantilever underneath as I work the outside and inside of the outside header, you got me, Remember I'm going on my 37th year doing this shit, I seen it all,, We all have our little gigs ,To get shit done, Enjoy these last few years, This business has been really good, I met a lot of great people, And for you being a welding inspector the godfather is a great friend of the Welding inspector, You can work like a gentleman, and get all 4 points at once on the system, Because if the beams are too deep, you have to keep hopping the beam chair up-and-down, To inspect the bottom flanges, I hope you understand, You can see everything that These videos have of my whole history , and return giving it back to the young men and women that are trying to get in this business, Good luck, And talk to you soon

Pha, The video was aerial assault, There's a difference from a beam chair ,to the godfather, Remember production welding, the godfather you're welding continuous , you complete all 4 points, A float can only do so much, An angel wing is a piece of shit, The beam chairs that Cornell had in the eighties, Was priceless, It's a proven winner, I use this system At CHOP With Cornell , I was the Welding Foreman,As you can see in the blueprint reading videos, All good, That's why we all think outside the Box, to get shit done, cause we're the best!
