Thanks for your comment ,it's about production, pipe welded connection dont happen much in our trade, 56 total welds,and all passed by the inspector, finished ahead of schedule, prep is everything, and my kid did a great job,first time for him ,to me he has talent, thanks , pipe boy for your loving comment!

Ive been in ironwork for about 8 1/2 years. And i just starting to learn how to run wire this past week. Im pretty good with 7018 but off the bat ive struggled with wire. Honestly, I can run fillet welds decently, but on the 1" plate test, i struggle quite a bit. Im gonna keep at it until i get it though

@@juansantamaria4507 honestly man if you have any connections with any companies willing to sponsor you, you should contact them and make sure to have your tools ready but if not go down to the union hall for 416 or 433 and sign up there and hopefully they offer you a Boot Camp opportunity like they offered me

Man I hate running nr-233 for some reason I always get wagon tracks.. the bead will look perfect but the majority of the time it has those small chicks tracks.. some days I get lucky and the bead comes out defect free but it just depends on what I’m welding that day.. yea inner shield is a whole lot faster than stick I still prefer stick.. less room for error u know?

Ben, Good morning, As you could see my son Loosen the bolts, So he can use the plate dog to get the in-and-out and high low, Driving a wedge, To get it right, And if that doesn't work, Use a porta power, With A plate dog set up, so you can get your in-and-out up-and-down get it all tacked, And you have the perfect alignment, Sometimes you need to use the plate dog with a wedge, The porta power, And a chain come along, You have to be prepared, And when you have all these 3 items you can conquer any kind of problem, I hope that helped you out, Thanks for your comment, Have a great weekend!

don’t know how to weld myself, but it looks fun! would you recommend going straight to an apprenticeship? or going through a welding-based trade school first? don’t know which Union is best though. I’ve heard some say UA, others say Ironworkers etc etc. I also know that Ironworkers walk the beams & stuff too, correct? or is that a specific persons job? or do you do some welding, some beam walking etc? sorry for all the questions, just wanna know what to do, & what I’m getting myself into! thanks!

M Thunderstorm, How is your weekend going, I hope great, Great question, Where do you live at In the USA, I went to Tech school for welding prior to me getting into the iron workers, If I would do it again I would become a steam fitter, Strictly welding , Don't get me wrong structural Iron worker certified to Weld Is is a great career thunderstorm, I don't know how old you are but if you can get into a apprenticeship, Whether it's the iron workers or the steam Fitters, You're making a great move, Is going to a welding school prior Is joining the apprenticeships, Is definitely a great move, the ball is in your court, Let me know how it goes and get back to me, Have a great weekend

@@jetweldingllc4691 my weekend is going good, how is yours? I live in Georgia, just recently moved out here from VA. I’m not sure which would be better. I’ve heard people saying on forums going to a trade school is not worth it, & it’s better to just apply to an apprenticeship, but I personally don’t have a lot of hands on experience so I’m not sure what to do. Always have been interested in the trades though! We have a trade school near me, that’s strictly for welding. Tuition is around $10k, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Also I’m 20 years old, if that helps.

C AK, BRAEDEN Running FIUX CORE, Lincoln NR 233 5/64 , That's all we run out in the field, FLUX Is inside the wire, Any jobs that are inside, Will probably still run flux core, Mig Is done in the shop, With the gas, is in a controlled environment

400, We run NR233 vertical and overhead only, We can run a flat too but, My son was welding these connections vertical up, If there's the same amount of flats that's as vertical and overhead it's going overhead we would still keep NRSNR233 in the Box, If I'm running flat NR305 I whip all the time, I'm always back checking my puddle I don't trust the drag, That's just my opinion, Overhead with the 233 I'm whipping it, I don't know what my son does, Thanks for your comment

Cliff, Thank you for your comment, Some people like to do what they want to do, So the person you're talking about is my son, Sometimes the slag just falls off, I know safety is 1st, But when you have a shield like that has a flip lens, You have an option, It looks like my son has that machine dialed in, everybody has their own preference, there's a time When you need it, And when you don't,, Have a great day, Oh and by the way, He's been a member of local 401 for 11 years, And hes considered one of the best, So if you think you're all that and a bag of chips, Go to the hall and sign up and maybe you'll work for him,

Terry, I added the description on The video, Bullpen, wedge, Plate dogs, lock 2 sides, And grab a 3rd, And tack it up, When you're doing stuff like That ,make sure your bullpen has a hole Throw it , So you can Tie it off, Porta power my favorite tool, And then tack it up, Proceed with the weld detail!

Terry,NR305 Is a flat and horizontal Weld only!NR233,NR232,NR203, Vertical and overhead, I know These are all position wires, /So when you have alot of big flat welding and horizontal NR305/ When you have a welded connection that is vertical overhead horizontal and flat I'm using NR233

Love seeing the tigerhood everybody wants the pipeliner. Pipeliners weld pipe they have a helper to grind the shit out who in fact has a clear faceshield. As a structural guy I don't even pull my faceshield out of the truck actually replaced it with green shade for cutting. Them pipeliner hoods will blink while trying to grind and that's annoying. Only problem I have is when visor up I take a flash thinki it's down and tend to do opposite reaching to slap visor down when its already there. I just got an auto few months ago Old habits die hard. My 2nd hood is a tiger chopped at bottom due to having a Crack with a gold 10 that you can't beat. Auto is a tradesman or something got it at welding shop tigerwood didn't even have plastic cheap lense so guy gave me the auto way better now lol less arc marks all over the damn place. Oh we weld stick not much wire but we all rig welders not single hand and them wire feeder especially with crosslink tech are expensive. I. Guess g yall are single hand whereas company supplies pretty much everything including machine

I can’t use auto darkening because my eyes are way too sensitive to arcs. The split second it takes for the lens to activate I’ll be seeing bright dots. A nice flashlight lets me start my welds pretty easy with the gold shade 10.
