NOTE: This model railroad video is not intended for anyone under 14 years of age due to the use of small parts, dangerous tools, electrical items, glues, and paints.
This is a longer discussion and description of the building structures that have been finished in and around the Jamestown (Topeka) station area. This includes the station building, freight house, Swarts Tool, and Redwing Milling. Two of the structures (station and Redwing Milling) were actually found to be missing some parts that I had apparently lost over the years since they were partially assembled so I had to design and 3D print replacement parts. The parts were printed on my Anycubic Vyper using ESun PLA+.
Some of these structures were recently shown in a couple of shorts videos.
NOTE: The music in the opening section is courtesy of KZbin and is titled "Skylines" by Anno Domini Beats.

That was one of my favorite kits both as a background building and the normal building to build

Hi Frank, I put several structures partially together several years ago and lost some parts and the box as well in some cases. In the past I just would have bought another kit and used the parts but kit prices today are out of this world. Thank goodness for 3D printers…..John

Thank you Joe. Over the years I have had able to use the 3D printers that I have to both create items and structures as well as to replace missing or broken parts of building kits….John

Hi Anthony, Thanks for your comments. I partially assembled a lot of these buildings several years ago and over that time I just lost track of the boxes or I had the box but parts must have just fell out. Oh well, the ability to 3D print replacements really helped me out…..John

Thank you John. As I mentioned in the video, I had lost parts to both the station and the milling kits but I was able to either find some usable ones that I had from other kits as well as 3D printing those I did not have. I have been working the past few days on storage tanks for the milling company which should be done this week.....John

Hi Tony, Thank you for watching and commenting. These were a heck of a lot easier to complete than the refineries were even with having to design and print several replacement parts….John

Hi John, That station building looks very 'German' but fits in well. Nice to see you're making steady progress ! Success & all the best, Filip

Hi Filip, Thanks for commenting. Yes it is a German station, Karlsberg by Faller. I used it because the shape of the building is similar to the older original station at Topeka, KS. Thanks again my friend…..John

Hi JD, Thanks for your comments. The message from Bambu Lab stated around the end of March at the earliest. Most printer companies would not have done the recall so it indicates that they care about their products and customers. As a general rule, always have a backup or second printer which I have had for the past 4 years. The A1 does print better detail and is faster than the Vyper but it still is a good printer…... John

Usually when I find that I am missing parts for a structure that was my fault, I would just buy a replacement kit. But not anymore, kits have gotten way too expensive. This is where the 3D printer really comes in handy. Thanks again….John
