I never really knew much about this until the series starting getting advertised. It seems so elitist, wrong in so many ways, but I am so happy that it is bringing attention to this, for the sake of the horses. That is maybe a good thing. They had a contract with Netflix to produce several films. This one was very late as they are desperate now. Last winter they showed up in Palm Beach to grab these images using Nacho's connections. This duke can't afford his own horses to play. A couple of years ago he played other people's horses in Santa Barbara and did rather poorly as he is/was very out of shape. She only shows up for the cameras acting like a rich person. No one wants to be affiliated with her.

PETA is just being selective as to whom they go after for animal abuse. Polo is a sport of wealth, arrogance, entitlement, and cruelty. At least Natcho is easy to look at, but Harry? He's nothing to look at and definitely not easy on anyone's eyes. Those horses deserve a better life than being polo ponies. They're ridden hard, ridden to win, and in some cases ridden to death. Some were ready to be put down because they were former polo ponies. The abuse they suffered was monumental. Hard and careless riding. Many skin injuries, and many problems with fear of people. Polo is wrong on many levels-----and the main one is that it is animal abuse, and I don't care who's riding those horses----kings, princes or commoners.

Did I hear the polo rider say the horses were 400 lbs? A polo pony would probably be about 1000 lbs. My 1/2 Percheron is about 1250 lbs. Cringed when a rider jumped from one horse to another and landed very heavily on its back. The poor horse dropped down a large amount. I cancelled Netflix as soon as I knew H&M were involved several years ago.

The trailer confirms my impression of polo as a VERY expensive sport for self-absorbed male trust-fund brats who are followed around by their surgically enhanced girlfriends in high-priced designer outfits and costly jewelry, with everyone driving to-and-from these events in cars that cost more than my house. Add in how dangerous this sport is for the horses, and how vapid the people in this trailer come across... I think saying it's "unrelatable" is beside the point.
