The speech Kino gave knowing that he wasnt getting out . He honestly cared about his floor guys and wasnt just the lackey that we thought the first time we met him.
@CytotoxinK3 ай бұрын
The single most powerful moment in that speech - to me - was the small choke and crack in Kino's voice when he says "You have to help eachother." (Because he knows he may not survive to help them much longer.) It was like the voice of a dying father telling his boys that he may not be around to guide and protect them for much longer, and that they have to learn to take care of eachother.
@Kira1Lawliet2 жыл бұрын
The speech about sacrifice by Luthen is hands down probably the SINGLE greatest piece of writing to EVER come out of anything Star Wars. It trumps everything to come out of even the original trilogy. It is criminal how much this show is just on another level than the rest of the franchise. This show and Mandalorian give me much hope for the future of this series, even with the specter of the sequel trilogy still hanging heavy over it.

And his delivery, as well as Andy Serkis' delivery of the "one way out" speech, is up there too. I can only think of a handful of line deliveries as powerful and memorable as Luthen and Kino Loy in all of SW

shoutout to drax for not editing out some of the speech at the end like some other reactors. the silence is the best reaction to that iconic scene, it seems like some of the other reactors doesn't realize that, what a show man.

Just to highlight how amazing the writing is, in this episode alone we get not one, but two epic monologues. That’s Epic with a capital E, serifs, underlines, and medieval monk illumination.

We need all the heroes we can get. Luthen saying that is sad. This man has damned himself to try and bring positive change in the galaxy. Yet, he knows that no one will honor what he does because of how cruel his methods have become. He will be reviled by future leaders because of what he did, even though his actions made their success possible. That is a form of heroism in itself, that kind of sacrifice, that takes courage. Hero or Anti-Hero...Luthen is making the best of his choice.

Well the fans asked for SW performing on top tier level in acting, directing, dialogue, writing and concept etc - now the underdog show (in terms of SW hype) set the bar extremely high and I hope a lot of people can enjoy it and some other people take notes how to make a good show

Andor is the weight, pathos & gravitas that Star Wars desperately needed for decades. Being an 80s SW fan, I was never a fan of the prequels or sequels, only really loving Rogue One & most of the Mandalorian. THIS was like watching the 90s novels we read to keep that Star Wars essence alive so I am so glad to hear you all’s praise. Star Wars evolved…finally.

It is on another level. Luthen's speech alone is like a defamation lawsuit against 'regular' TV. That shit should be illegal (They're saying). No it shouldn't. You all (Other TV) should elevate your shows and stop pandering to the "pew pew" boys and "ooglie booglie" girls of your fandom. Fans can live with actual literature if you deliver it with people like Skarsgaard and Luna and base your filming around elevating the inner life of complicated people.
