not sure if you have mentioned this yet in the video but if your kitchen worktop is going to continue to be wood, I'd recommend going for maple wood...I work for a company here in washington state that builds doors and countertops and maple is a go-to wood for us for countertops. It has a naturally very light, blonde appearance that would look nice in your space. Additionally, a high-solid food safe oil finish like Osmo Top Oil would be great because you won't have to sand it to reapply to countertops, so it would be much easier to maintain than urethane-based wood finishes. For your flooring it looks like a soft wood like pine, but a hardwood like white oak would be great for floors...white oak is naturally super water resistant (used to be what they built boats out of!) so it's a great material for flooring because it's really tough.

For example, I didn't really feel like this video's title was descriptive of what the video actually was - it sounded like it was going to be a super emotional and sad video. I would have felt less confused if it was titled " Rebuilding the tiny house: challenges and finding inspiration" or something like that. So cool your parents let you build and live on their land. And I bet having them right there is a huge support. First time I watched this I thought she legit lived alone in the wilderness. Silly me. ❤

Thank you for this, Isabel, it came at a perfect time for me. I'm in the process of converting a bus into a home & I'm at a stage where I need to make some big decisions about wether I want to invest time/labor/money into doing things as good as they can be done or if I want to save a bit of all that and get it done for the sake of getting it done. In my gut I've been wanting to do it the right way so I don't have to worry about renovations and repairs that could have been avoided. I know it's not about perfection, but rather proper planning. What you've shared has inspired me to follow my gut and put the work in.

It's amazing how raw it can feel to dismantle am old project. It remind you of your past self, which can bring up so many emotions. Give yourself grace and keep the goal in mind!

I’ve hiked, backpacked, lived and worked in the same state, Washington, where Isabel’s vids are shot, and can’t say I have ever seen a woman walking in the Douglas firs in a long dress, swinging a wicker basket. And traipsing in the snow, no less! But those are great shots to set the mood for the illusion of this series.

Whoa. Sad for you.

@@deborahpaulin1188 No kidding! At least it is possible to tune in to these beautifully scripted stories and see a barely dressed Isabel. Very smart on the part of the production team - they know what sells: her introspective woe-is-me musings about Life and Such for the women, bikini and wet-dress sequences for the guys.

@@thardyryll Production team? I think not. Isabel works hard at doing this herself

😂 I think it takes a LOT of steps/work to capture all the video clips she does. It’s a process for sure.

I agree with you on the production thinking for sure. All the butt shots on opening almost have me wondering what the heck. But she knows what gets the likes I guess.

Spring Equinox has past and warmer days are in the 10 day forecast, as least for a large part of the country. I am so looking forward to the garden and camping.

Isabel on a lighter note you should have called in Hannahleeduggan to help you out, the three of you would have rocked, with hannah singing and dancing and never ending fun.

Your awesome. Thank you for sharing your struggle with lacking confidence in your ability to tackle something unknown. I've found when I work thru the project and not only complete it but conquer my own fear, I gain confidence. Confidence to build upon and to be willing to tackle another project. Isn't it awesome when you realize there really wasn't anything to fear. It's good to recognize that it can definitely be a huge stumbling block. Looking forward to you new ideas for your tiny home.

I love your winter ambition. It may be the humidity can cause the mold like that. So humid that area. Might try a little dehumidifier. I have one I empty the reservoir into my fish tank when it fills. Thank you for your creativity!
