Say it to play. Look, leap and land. Light is the touch. Breathe, relax and smile. These are things that I get the most from, thanks.

When I do the C to A vamp, here's what I do- it's similar to what you do, but I turn C into a staccato stab before hitting A on 2+, letting A ring even when interrupted by G the third time around.

😱 OMG!.... this song won't leave me. This was one of my Father's favorite songs. I learned it and recorded it in his honor on Sunday for Father's Day. Thanks Stu! I know he's still enjoying it. ~Mary🦋 ~

STU! You're the Best. Aat first I'm like, NO Way I'm going to get this, then, I've got my computer split screen, my note taking on my ipad, and suddenly, two times through your short video and I've mastered this intro. Recently I've spent hours trying to decipher complicated picking with no notes from some pretty otherwise good instructors, but I never even got a chance to play because they wasted all my time. You hit the sweet spot again with quality documentation, a youtube link I can play later if I need a refresher (hint everybody, make a playlist on youtube for yourself!) and optional add-on comments and expert tips. While I'd love to spend time with you over a coffee at a Uke speakeasy, at the same time, I appreciate the concise instruction on your videos and how well prepared you are so there isn't wasted time on them..... I can't wait to see what else you're working on, and look forward to part 2 of Proud Mary soon.

Thanks so very much Kate! I appreciate your kind comment very much… Very glad that you found the lesson so helpful and congratulations on learning it so quickly!!! (That’s on you 😉) It’s a joy and an honor to pass along the helpful and relaxing learning techniques I learned from my teachers. May they serve you well! Until we meet over coffee someday at a uke festival, I’ll be here on YT 😉🤙🎶💜

Greetings. Jim from Guatemala, via Poughkeepsie, here. The fan stroke video was a big help with this! I've been trying to learn this tune for a long time. I'm encouraged now! I've been doing the chunk strum for a while, but flick/fan or rasqueado, which means strum in Spanish, followed by chunking will be a cool exercise.

Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and joining in Jim 😊

Great lesson. I'm glad to be able to pause and repeat. Also: your segments on the timeline make it easy to restart exactly at the item that I practice and repeat again and again.

Great stuff... the tab vs the strum diagram is a little bit different....but both sound great to me. I'm slowly advancing my overall playing, one slow step at a time! Thanks for all you do.
