I also went to the written blog to read this and I'm so glad I did. Doug refers to a discussion here but you will totally miss it. On the blog you will find an almost 2 hour discussion with Doug and John Piper from 2013 about the controversy of DW being invited to the DG Conference. It is just so, so, so worth watching! It's one of the most encouraging and edifying things I've watched in awhile (and I watch a lot of youtube discussions). For any who do take me up on it I felt the discussion of African Americans voting for democrats to be worth the whole 2 hours. Doug's answer was phenomenal and showcased both his wisdom and his courage (hint: he kinda tore down Piper's response). Final thought: Interesting to compare Piper's defense of a Christian voting for a pro-abortion candidate because he had been convinced of the complex nature of the decision after having a discussion with an African American friend with his stated opinion on the case of whether a Christian could vote for Trump in 2020. dougwils.com/books-and-culture/s7-engaging-the-culture/strunk-white-supremacy.html

Maroon was a pejorative term given to descendants of Africans in the Americas who formed settlements away from slavery. Sometimes it’s good to know the etymology of words. Probably not the best term to use considering the title of the video.

@@newhavenchristianministrie6721 - But in more 'modern' and accepted parlance, it is far, far removed from that usage, and is only a Bugs Bunny shorthand for 'moron.' Same word, two different meanings. "Boogie" used to mean sex - now it means 'to dance' or a type of piano roll.

@@timbushong4387 I remember the bugs bunny episode well. However Bugs used the term to indicate how stupid the guy was. Did the writers know the origin of the term? Everyone knows African were thought of as unintelligent people. We’re they performing an inconspicuous slight? Not sure. But again I think wisdom and discretion would dictate that the word maroon not be used in a video with the term White Supremacy.

Jory Micah has a documented record of violence, arrested twice already in 2022. From the Pennsylvania State Police: “Jory Micah Peterson, 38, of 212 Springfield Ave, Washington, is charged by state police with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the 300 block of West Maiden Street at about 1 p.m. Friday [May 13, 2022] for a domestic incident. Police said Peterson would not let police into the home, and is accused of biting a trooper’s hand. District Judge John Bruner sent Peterson to the Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.” From New York State Police records: “On January 9, 2022, at approximately 2:25 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Jory M. Peterson, age 37 of Washington, PA for the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Criminal Tampering in the third degree. Troopers were dispatched to a one vehicle crash on County Road 21 in the town of Franklin. Peterson was checked out by Franklin Fire Department members and did not appear injured. Troopers were advised that Peterson appeared to be intoxicated. While interviewing Peterson, they noted she did display characteristics commonly associated with impairment. After an investigation, Peterson was told she was under arrest when she began to physically resist, spitting and kicking at troopers.” For her May arrest she spent 30 days in jail. Her tweets: “I resisted with all my strength and I genuinely despise cops.” “Sometimes a bruised body is worth spitting in the fascist cops face and giving them the facts.”
