The laser thing is sort of nuts as it will not take long for drone manufactures to use reflective materials in construction.

Good choice since the APKWS only costs around $22k per missile vs others costing 100s of thousands. Would be nice to see an even lighter-duty and less expensive missile for shooting down drones if the laser is being overwhelmed by targets or the weather, like fog, is preventing the laser from functioning properly.

Most of the demonstrations with laser always seems to target slow moving, almost loitering drones, how about a real world scenario like in Ukraine where one is actually coming at you. Saying that the purpose of this is show it's potential doesn't fill me with confidence that it's close to being viable.

i'd like to see a modular vehicle mount with dual auto shotguns like AA12 for self defense against small drones, call it skeet shooter.

It gives more confidence than not having one. 😂 I’m old enough to remember that the first concept of a laser weapon needed a big passenger jet to carry it and the power source. Then it got refined down to ship-size. And now it’s on a Stryker. In a decade, it’ll be an App on your phone. 😂

It’s wheeled making it better than a fixed option and probably isn’t too heavy. With the size of everything else on the battlefield relevant If you can hit a man with a drone then anything else bigger is fair game anyway. May as well have something that can defend itself and formations/ Installations
