I own a NightSky, and the one BIG thing you have to be aware of, you will need an external midi controller, it can hold 300 patches in 3 banks, BUT they have no librarian to keep track of this so you better think about it, also you can not access the next 8 patches from Strymond unless you can send controller, and PC messages, now you can create cool patches fast, but where do you store them? and how do you retrieve them? I reached out to Strymond and their words are you must buy an external control and figure out a patch librarian on your own, now that being said, I own a Morningstar MC8 and have begun to make and store my own patches, but at this price point you will have to invest in another controller to take advantage of this pedal...this is never mentioned in any review that I have seen yet, and its a BIG deal at this price point...Helix, Eventide H9 all have advanced editor/ librarian software to support their pedals, this does not...

@nr92cp64 жыл бұрын
Eh, the Blackhole doesn't compete with this, but the Space and H9 remain as relevant as ever.
@peterperson14 жыл бұрын
Derek Ferrell There’s nothing wrong with the Blackhole algorithm and I agree the H9 & Space are still very relevant but Strymon release a unique & boundary pushing pedal in the same week that Eventide release a standalone pedal version of the same old Blackhole algorithm that first surfaced in 1994 and is already available in the H9, Space pedal & as a plug-in? If I were Eventide, I’d be feeling pretty embarrassed. Granted, they’re slightly different animals but if you’re in the market for an ambient reverb pedal, I just can’t see why anyone would get the new Blackhole pedal when there are lots of other more appealing options out there?, one of which being the new Nightsky.

I love your product demos. I feel like I learn something from them every time. My wallet loves them less though, every time I look at one of these I go from "Nah, I don't need one" to "Well...actually that might be kind of nice to play with!" I also really appreciate that you are doing something different with pedals. There's many "pick an algorithm, no you can't tweak algo A the same as B" type units on the market so having these sort of "workstations" like the Nightsky and Volante where you can really get into crafting your own things with all the features so easy to use makes all the difference.

@strymon28 күн бұрын
Hi, to save a preset after changes have been made, press and hold the FAVORITE footswitch until the LED flashes BLUE to enter SAVE mode, then release the footswitch. From there, there are three ways to select a preset location and complete the save: - Press the FAVORITE footswitch to save to the currently selected preset location. Note that this could be a preset location selected via MIDI. - Press one of the eight PRESET BUTTONS to select a new preset location, and then press the FAVORITE footswitch to save to that location. Press the same PRESET BUTTON twice before pressing the FAVORITE footswitch to save to a different preset bank. - Send NightSky a MIDI Program Change message to save to the corresponding preset location. If you have any questions on saving presets, don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@strymon.net - thanks!
