Discovered Nixie by accident, connected a UM-One cable after installing on my Mac Minie with OSX10.14 installed 1.87 into my Timeline and I am off and running editing presets, fantastic, you should remind your user base this exists on FB its such a usefull tool! Well done chaps

Thanks for checking out Nixie! :) I did notice that you are using one of the generic interfaces that we have found to fail consistently as they are not very robust (can only handle 3 bytes at a time). Using a more reliable interface like the Roland UM-ONE or the Yamaha UX-16 should avoid the crashes you are experiencing.

Would an M-Audio MIDIsport 2x2 be an acceptable interface?

Hi man, I've got the exact same Midi Cable like you've got in the vid. I know Strymon is very specific about the type of midi cable etc but I just won't be able to get my hands on one of the recommended cables anytime soon. Problem is my when I open Nixi it doesn't automatically pick up my Timeline and when I try to detect it, it just freezes like stated in the video. Is it supposed to just be plug and play or is there some sort of midi mode I have to put my Timeline in or something in order for Nixie to pick it up upon launch?

I'm running Windows 10 (but running Nixi in compatibility mode for Windows 7). Got the generic midi cables "IN" plugged into the Timeline "OUT" and the midi cable "OUT" into the Timeline "IN"

Hello, I also run Windows 10. I haven't had to run it in compatibility mode. It sound like you have everything hooked up correctly to me, I haven't had to do anything aside from connect the pedals. I have noticed however, that in order to recognize in the app without doing anything, you need to hook up all your connections with the pedal off, then connect the power so that its connected to the computer before the pedal is powered on. Good luck! I bet the issue will clear up once you have one of the recommended cables. Here is to hoping Strymon includes USB connectivity on their future pedals.

I've annotated the video with the information, using a name brand USB to Midi resolved the crashing issues.

You remember which one?

On Mac OSX 10.11I had to create a Device to represent the Mobius in Audio/MIDI Setup and connect it up on-screen, otherwise the pedal is not detected despite the MIDI interface being recognised.

Do you think if 10.13.5 it works with M audio midisport?

Could you walk me through the steps? I am having the same issue
@TriPedalReviews8 жыл бұрын
Also, I'll mention, the bug where you switch from A/B happened both when doing it in the editor, and when doing it on the pedal.

Hello; Thank you for the video. I can use an interface (Presonus AudioBox) to connect my pedals Strymon with Nixie?
@TriPedalReviews8 жыл бұрын
I believe so. That unit looks to have midi In and midi out. So instead of buying a Midi to USB cabel, you should just be able to connect midi in/out to the back of the Presonus, and then the presonus connects to the computer via USB.

Hello there again what if nixie won't give you the option to update your pedal?
@TriPedalReviews6 жыл бұрын
If the pedal is already on the latest firmware, then no option will be presented to update the pedal. That would be my guess.

Thanks for the video! Unfortunately, my Timeline will be detected by my laptop, but it won't read all the presets and I lose connection to the device. Whenever I restart the program, it will say "no device detected." Anyone have a solution to this? Mac OS 10.12.6, I have two midi cables. A Hosa Tech one and a LiDi Vi. Thanks

having the same issue, did you ever find a fix?

andy hey. Unfortunately I didn’t. I switched to using the Strymon preset librarian instead of nixie. Much simpler but works great

Tri Pedal Reviews do I've to pay for the app?
@TriPedalReviews6 жыл бұрын
Nixie is control software for the Strymon pedals (BigSky, Timeline, and Mobius) You don't have to pay for the software, but you'll need one of the above pedals connected to the computer to do anything with the software. Nixie just interfaces with those pedals and controls them.
