Here we have Stuart Burrows Singing an extremely well loved song form Wales, 'Myfanwy'. Performed during his 'Around the World Series' from 1985, it is simply wonderful. I know you'll certainly enjoy listening to this beautiful song.

When I was 8 or 9 , Mr Burrows was my teacher, at Bargoed South boys school. This gentleman was quite possibly one of the best teachers I have ever known. He not only taught us academic subjects; but also made sure we enjoyed various sports at least once or twice a week. On one afternoon a week, he would have my class meet with another and we would enjoy learning songs and having stories read to us. He also managed to get us to enjoy singing as a boys choir . We would occasionally perform for local officials, under his direction. Mr Burrows was also a capable and enthusiastic rugby player. I miss seeing such men as him in today's world

I don't think he was underrated in the operatic world. He sang in most of the great houses and made numerous recordings. He was considered by many to be the finest Mozart tenor of his time and was generally highly admired.

@@tonyashbridge2910 I totally agree. A voice in a million with the musicianship to go with it. Not everything the recording companies pressed him to sing really suited him but most of the time he was unsurpassable. I've so many very happy memories of his glorious singing. Thank you Stuart - an artist and a gent.

I agree, It is beautiful isn't it, Stuart is, and I reckon, always will be my favourite Tenor. By the way, I am a little confused with you writing RIP. it makes me think you might believe he is no longer with us, but I am so happy to say, he is, thank God. It will be a very, very sad day for me should this occur. Thank you so much for your kind comment though, I've never had the pleasure of meeting him, but it's wonderful to know that you did, and that he always smiled at people, and is a kind man, with a beautiful voice. 😊
