The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Hi Cliffe, I am Christian. I really love how you explain topics in context. Sorry if this is long, I hope you can and please explain 1 cor 11:14-16 in your next video or sometime? I ask because some people give me a hard time about their interpretation: "Long hair on men is a ABOMINATION To God!" because in the Russian translation its written as бесчестье or "dishonor" and most likely confused with other translations to and back. Most will use the "SODOM" argument, that God punished them for their deeds in which apparently "was because they had long hair"?? What do you think? You talked about women talking in church, but you missed the topic of hair. People also argue that "long hair on men was in the old testament" implying Samson, etc. Also, why does Paul say "doth not nature teach you" if in nature, only male lion has a mane and such? Finally, I heard someone interpret it this way (I will reword it because I forgot a little): "If long hair on men was a sin, and Samson had long hair because he was a Nazarite, that means God gave an exception for Samson(or any Nazarite) to have long hair which would be a sin. God doesnt ever make exceptions to sin". Some say "people will be offended because of you" while taking Matthew 18:6-7. Does it mean the one who offends the believing Christian ("little ones") or the person minding their own business and someone finds something to judge about on that other person and is offended? Is it really the person(who minds their own business)'s fault? Is being "feminine" a sin for a male if he has a wife/partner or he is attracted to the opposite sex (female)? (As his personality and same with female personality is "masculine" for example, strong, drives truck, muscular, likes blue etc) So, is long hair (any style) ok for boys and men? Is it "sodomy" etc? What would Jesus have said Himself? Does God Care that we love and serve Him, or does He Want us to have a "unique" hair length/style. In 1 Samuel 16:7, it says But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. I love and serve God. I follow the 10 commandments. Is "women below men" or "long hair no men yes women" a commandment? Did Jesus have Long Hair? Would Jesus refuse or condemn someone because they have Long hair? Thank you so much, Cliffe. God Bless you and Stuart. Peace be with you!
@mlwilliams4407
@mlwilliams4407 3 сағат бұрын
Hope this helps... 1 Corinthians 11:14-16 is about cultural norms, not sin. Long hair on men (including Samson and Nazarites) is not forbidden by God. God cares about the heart, not outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7). Sodom was destroyed for complete commitment to extremely wicked sin, not hair. Jesus likely had medium-length hair, but we don’t know for sure.

The entire message of the Bible is that you can't do anything good. That's why God came down as a man to save you.
@Sergedb74
@Sergedb74 4 сағат бұрын
When one reads the Bible, the Bible says that it is cleansing one's soul. It is like taking a spiritual shower. Second, Jesus has already paid even for your present and future sins, the Bible says to judge yourself. It means that if you see what you are doing wrong, and confess to God, He will not judge or chastise you in this life. Of course, sometimes He does. Fourth, the Bible says that something is sinful if you believe it sinful, like the eating of meat for instance. It is fine to be vegan but it is a sign you see sin where there is no sin. Remember, we are spiritually sinless after being born again. It is unavoidable to sin through our bodies i.e. anger, depression, sexual sin, wrong decisions which hurt others. However, what's the worry if God already paid for our future sins? One way to become stronger, it is to keep our bodies under some sort of subjections like looking after one's health, exercising hard at times, eating good food, remove temptations but the point is that by realising our pitfalls makes life more successful. Rejoice every time you recognise the wrong you've done instead of the other way around. In short, embrace the feelings of being uncomfortable when reading the Bible. Final point, read the true Bible, not the modern bibles if you want answers to your deepest questions. Questions?

To add further context my dad was Buddhist and my mum catholic, so I've also always believed in reincarnation and the after life. I swear to God, I've seen evidence of spirits. My was and dad were both very spiritual, but my mum was also into all the Crystal stuff. I've even had a "psychic reading" that told me I was King Arthur from a previous life, (they also mentioned other notable figures in history that have escaped my memory). Since the day I was born I've been driven to be the greatest man alive, I will literally keep working with a fractured spine. I actually walked myself into ER and still walk today with no vertebrae disc between 2 vertebrae, it's essentially bone to bone contact between vertebrae. I do this because I'm a new father and will do anything for my children, I've also had spinal surgery that was only successful for 3 weeks before I was returned to the confines of a bed (essentially). It also left me with nerve conditional problems around the waist, so didn't want to try for #2. My wife wants more kids, I have an 18 month now and another due very soon. We have also talked about more, so I actually chose to live with excruciating and debilitating pain every day but walk around looking "fine". Ultimately I will endure any level of pain for my wife and children. I also had the realisation recently that I call everyone brothers and sisters due to a fraternity I'm in. I also genuinely treat my friends like family, therefore I realised I also consider everyone family It all feels super coincidental and therefore followed another clue I feel has been sent to me from the universe.

To add even more context. Because my dad is Buddhist, I don't even like hurting an insect. I even told my wife just weeks ago about a spider I had to kill in the house so she wouldn't scream when she found it in the night going to the toilet. I also told her I said a prayer for it, (I'm not religious). I don't like taking even the smallest of lives, but I am also willing to fight for what I believe in. That was what my dad taught me, he also taught me to never throw the first punch, so to never start a fight but he did teach me how to finish them and rightly encourage me to do so. Over the years I've stepped in to fight against groups of people outnumbering 1 or 2 people, I considered it an unfair fight and would always my weight the weight of 5 of them. I have never lost either, they always back down, most would buy me drinks all night. I've also been that guy, people follow me everywhere, I can't go out without having wholesome interactions with strangers (although don't go out often due to disability now). I'm also probably 1 of the only guys in existence to say I've had women buy me drinks at bars, and also be the one fighting to pay for dinner and run off and do it behind my back while I thought they were going to the toilet and I was waiting for the cheque. My life is filled with extraordinary stories so thought, let's possibly add another to the list 🤣. So am I jesus? Haha I can't even say it without trying to make it a joke, though I understand you believe in these things.

Behind it there is more often than not a selfish desire to obtain something back for being good. At times, we do something selflessly but it is not the norm. That is what being a sinner means, when it is all about us. God knows that, He gives us lots of grace for recognising this. Any questions?

That is exactly what a truth CLAIM is. They are CLAIMING the truth! That is not the same as the truth but yes, it is a truth claim!

Truth claim- a statement that someone asserts to be true, essentially a proposition or belief held by a person or group that they consider to be factual, even if others may disagree with its accuracy

It's really sad to see Stuart go from the Jesus guy to the anti-evolution guy. I came here for Jesus. Not Stuart's issues with science. No one ever came to Jesus because they suddenly decided that evolution wasn't real. Total waste of time. Total embarrassment to Christianity.

Is it possible that the discussion on evolution reached someone's heart, and got them to think critically?
