She isn't blocking her face or moving her head. As you kick, keep the lead arm high(the lead arm being the arm on the same side of your body as your kick). Bring your lead arm across your body and inline with your opponents hand/shoulder(right kick, you bring your arm and hand infront of their right hand. Your elbow on that same arm should be guarding your face. This all happens as you are stepping to begin the kick. Keep your other hand glued to the side of your face as you kick to block a counter kick, or, if you see a counter punch coming, bring your hand infront of your face, palm facing opponent, to help block the punch. Keep your chin tucked forward and down into the leading shoulder. You could also slip your head as you throw the kick. In this instance you would act like you are slipping a straight right. Everytime she throws a kick she turns heard head waaaay left, exposing her chin badly. On the other side she is just kind of flipping up her relaxed fingers for a brief second by her face. Cover up and bomb a right high kick to the head or step in with a stiff jab/left hand and you would counter this kick all day. Thanks for reading! Good luck with your training!

One question, what would be the exercise to better design the hip for the kick? Do you have any tips you can teach? Sounds like a powerful kick, question though. When you follow through with any kind of kick do you usually keep your guard up? I noticed that when she'd follow through with rotation her hands would drop or is it at a decent enough range you wont have to worry about them closing in for an elbow or hook?
@user-lk9ip2kl4k Жыл бұрын
In orthodox stance, right hand is thrust downward as the hip rotates. This is to assist in the thrust of the kick. The left hand stays up to guard the head /face. The form of the kick will have your head somewhat leaned back already. If opponent is also orthdx, an attack will most likely be coming to your left side as your right will be out of range. I know this question is years old, but wasn't answered so I figured, WTH 😂 You're probably already a pro fighter by now since this is so old 😂😂😂 🙏

she has a VERY unusual body shape, thats ideal for kicking, she has strong endomorph legs and hips BUT they arnt pure endomorph because they are reasonably long. Thats pretty cool imo. Very rare, you often get endomorphs with short powerful legs and they have tonnes of power but they dont kick much because their legs are too short, they tend to use their hands instead, but she is very lucky. Her hips/kicks are a bit weak though (on and off) not genetically but because she hasnt done enough repetitions yet, muay thai is not easy, it takes a TON of hard tenacious skillful work. When she does get her technique down perfectly, her powerful hips and heavy legs will make for some devastating low kicks!

Er...that's the first time I've seen anyone hold the pads on their...er...Hymie like that....it seems to me that holding it there is a good way to get an accidental kick in the groin, and also a way to have a. Whiplash effect on your back.
@warriorcollective9 жыл бұрын
Elgin Subwaysurfer Bolling I get where you are coming from, there are certainly not many instructors who pad hold like this, but Master A makes it work well for him. I am also pretty sure his brother Master Toddy holds in this way as well! Having seen him in action on a number of occasions I can state that it actually does the job without any risk to the pad holder as long as the rapport is built between fighter and instructor
@gussk8e9 жыл бұрын
+Elgin Subwaysurfer Bolling I've had my coach hold pads like that depending on the combination drilled and we've never had any problems like that. I guess it would depend on the level of the person hitting the pads and if he were to miss

there is not any muay thai low kick but there is just low kick. low kick does not from muay thai it is existed in all fighting sport.
@SidRabid35 жыл бұрын
hoyordugaar m The Thais perfected it, they might as well have invented it. When Duke Rufus first fought Changpuek in the 80s the west hadn’t even seen low kicks. Duke Roufus actually changed his fighting style after this bout. Mas Oyama borrowed the technique after seeing it used in the ring. Low kicks are a Thai boxing speciality, all other styles have borrowed it.
