I find it very hit and miss, there are sublime highs like the 12 Days of Christine, Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room, To Have and To Hold to name a few, but then there are some real duds like Wuthering Heist, Misdirection, Silent Orchestra. I find the earlier episodes generally have a higher hit rate.

There are definitely some episodes I prefer over others but at least they're trying different things and not just churning out formulaic fodder, and the performances of Pemberton and Shearsmith are always worth watching. Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room or The Bill are my favourites, for what it's worth.

I actually enjoyed the quiz 😂😂 The bit at the end wasn't needed as I just enjoyed the quiz with Lee Mack , there were some real laugh out loud lines from him, I thought it was very clever to write a quiz. I did like the emphasis in the family's stiff upper lip , all the while hiding the fact none of them really liked each other and that it slowly chipped away at them , I liked the Daughter giving an answer that essentially revealed she did listen to music despite the mother strictly not letting her listen to modern music. Not sure how people could get confused it was a real quiz tbh , I did wonder if BBC had put the wrong episode on but not that it wasn't part of the series.

The '3x3' episode DID fool some people! I definitely didn't know for those first few minutes. I just put BBC2 on at the normal starting time and wondered why the heck it wasn't on. It seemed plausible enough... Though it was the title that made me twig pretty quickly. Also, the mother and daughter are too obviously actors. The whole thing was brilliant, in how the moment you realise what they've done is so joyous, I was laughing out loud at the sheer ballsy-ness of it all! 😄
@tobyb10187 ай бұрын
I don’t know how it fooled anyone, it was on the IN9 time slot, it was called 3x3, you could tell the contestants were acting/actors, and they already did a fake “live” episode a couple years previous… the whole time I was watching it I knew it was IN9 and was just waiting for some weird shit to happen, and it did..

Completely wrong about The Twilight Zone, there were way, way, way more stories than those. Somebody turning out to be a ghost or an alien rarely happened, almost never. The Devil was in a few but usually pretty honest and straightforward about who he was. You should totally watch the old 1950s / 60s Twilight Zones btw, masterworks of imagination, all sorts of ideas you'd never have thought of in your whole life otherwise. The 1980s ones were pretty good too.

Do I detect a hint of plagiarism? I watched a short drama in the 70s or 80s based on the real and then current quiz show Mr and Mrs, featuring the show’s actual presenter. So it looked real. But two contestants were found to be using telepathy to pass answers between them, causing the audience, made up of non-telepathic proles, to start booing and slow hand clapping- with their six fingered hands.
