Nice. Size and shape of the licence plate will drive the final design. In the UK we have huge plates and it makes it hard to tuck them in (legally anyway!)

I thought in one of his later videos I noticed at least one welding helmet on a shelf there, and hoped to see some fab/welding work, either making parts or a repair. Looks like he used a MIG this time. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a video making some frame mods with a TIG too! If that was me running that cutoff wheel, and not using gloves, half of my video would need to be deleted to remove the excessive blood spray…😂 The closeup of the final product on the bench has a nice MIG bead run, nice! The metal was thicker than I thought, I was expecting to see some damage where you may have blown-through.
@MotoMirius Жыл бұрын
Thanks, much appreciated. It had been my plan to include some welding in the video, but I do so little welding at the moment that it takes too long to get back up to speed to include it. The main issue with welding this is that being a non structural part it is a very low quality steel and I think recycled so there is a lot of contamination which makes for very messy welds. I try not to get too much blood on the camera ;)

It looks like that the bike from this video have a bigger back tire than the stock one, am i wrong? About the tail tidy, 100% that this is the next change for my bike! Amazing video, really helpfull!
@MotoMirius11 ай бұрын
Glad I could help and thank you. That is a stock size rear tyre. The way the manufacturer constructs the tyre can make them look a bit wider - and I agree, the Bridgestone does look wider (I think that is what I had on the back in this video).

Dave! Just asking about on the road security, for bikes, because I just bought another 125 KTM 2022, and nearly got it stolen out side a small walk in Sainsbury's just today, I had a D-Lock on the back sprocket and chain, so that walk the only thing that stopped them and so staff shouting in the store that they were trying to steal my bike, could you suggest any measure that I could take? P.s They got away on a scooter....
@MotoMirius2 жыл бұрын
Of course they were on a scooter. Ultimately if someone wants your bike there is nothing you can do to stop it. But what you experienced is common too - you have to strike a balance - there is only so much security you can carry and a D lock is good (if its a good one) but hard to lock a motorbike to anything with one. A proper chain and padlock - say ABBA not Oxford works but then you have something that weighs nearly as much as the bike. I do quite like the KTM disk lock for this reason. Never bought one, but it's always fitted and not so easy to remove with an angle grinder or brute force as your average cheap disk lock. Good to hear that you survived that one. But a couple of years ago there was a 390 Duke got stolen from the high street near me and was ridden around for quite a while by the thieves.
@ezekielgskeen86072 жыл бұрын
@@MotoMirius thanks a million for your insight, I ordered two more D-locks, the one that saved me was a ABUS, That I normally use with my garage lock, one more of them a Kryptonite deck Evo, for the break disk, until my steering lock is fixed Saturday morning, thanks again, salute to always!

How long did it take to build that
@MotoMirius2 жыл бұрын
Not all that long - it's hard to say because filming always makes jobs five times longer. Waiting for paint to dry is the longest part, a good fabricator would be able to do the basic work in just a few minutes.
