In an age of quiet quiting and moral equvalencies, I love that there are still people and families who believe their work and skill mattered even after they are well into their retirement. The satisfaction of a job well done is golden. Thank you or putting out these videos!

Morning, I’m no spring chicken, but like my sons enjoy creating a task well done. I get quiet sub conscious feeling, like no doubt all people get when doing rather than sitting.😉

Great info and great way of teaching! I recently started estimating for a stucco/stone/cladding subcontractor and this channel has been VERY helpful in learning the details I’m not privy to. ✌️

Howdy Leonard, when I’m explaining stucco things, I’m basically teaching my three sons so that they don’t have to learn the hard way. All though learning that way instills some serious retention. Cheers😉

@@StuccoPlastering Learning the hard way definitely speeds up the process! 😅Thanks again and enjoy the weekend (assuming you’re not working hard Saturday and Sunday)!

For that application, I would want to break back more old stucco, add diamond mesh about 3 feet wide, and then the control joint. Love what you guys do!
@StuccoPlastering7 ай бұрын
Thank you, There was enough wire plus the homes was built pre 1980, thus a stud house. We would have had to break to the next stud 16 inches away. Jay did an excellent job breaking out to where necessary.

I like the look of those expansion joints, once it's painted to match the house , it will look just fine. Since you installed that expansion joint a couple of inches from the break, it would crack there instead. I would have scored a nice clean line and cut a straight clean line along that wall and tuck that piece under the cut and mud only one side of that joint.

It was placed on the two separate foundations, even the best of plans are not fool proof . Cheers
@brucewayne27737 ай бұрын
@@StuccoPlastering Indeed, never fool proof. You guys ever do new construction? you have a great team of guys working for you. I know my plasterer has a real hard time keeping new guys, they just can't handle the hard work that comes with plastering. Usually quits within the first week.
@StuccoPlastering7 ай бұрын
@@brucewayne2773 my guys in the past and my sons today look at the task of stucco, as a great workout plus getting paid to stay in shape. I guess it depends on one’s attitude towards working.

Evening Mike, I like your style, thank you.

That went by a little quick for me ,, I am uncertain what the final looks like. What doea one see? The narrow galvanized double wall vertical strip ? You carefully stucco the right side to the old stucco ? I'm guessing Pat is matching the windows that were replaced on the house, and had trim board placed around them? I mean on the older part of the house. Otherwise we stucco right up to the window, to really seal that wall.
@StuccoPlastering7 ай бұрын
We do have many video where the stucco has been applied where expansions are, one see just a vertical line in the stucco. When I get time I’ll add one in the description 😉

the other question is , do you attach them with wires or you staple them to the building?
@StuccoPlastering7 ай бұрын
We attach with staples as in LA they did earth quake test and proved the staples held tight while the heads of the furring nails sheeted off. That video is in the description.😉
