You made all of the recoveries look easy. I haven't been to Daytona for about 10 years and it looks much different. Less sand and less people, more condos and less Mom and Pops small motels. At one time it was hard to find a place to park and to lay a beach towel down. The cars used to get stuck when the tide came in more so than in the loose stuff. The waves would bury them in just a few minutes. There used to be red lifeguard stands pretty close together and airplanes always flying over the edge of the water with advertisements about everything that was going on. You used to be able to drive on 30 miles of that beach. A family friend has a concession trailer near the boardwalk and the son has the ice cream buggy. I'm in Ohio and have traveled there at least 25+ times over the years, it was always the place to go if you wanted a beach vacation. It takes 15 hrs now and used to take 21 hrs years ago when I was a kid.

A kinetic rope is a lot safer and adds much more pulling power. They are like a bungee cord. You can leave 10 or more feet of slack in the rope and take off and the ones that are really buried deep just jump out of the holes that they have made by spinning. Matt's off road recovery channel uses and sells them (made by Yankum) and his recoveries will sell you on them with the recoveries he is able to make with his custom built corvair wagon of all things. A lot of these newer cars could save themselves by turning off the traction control and letting air out of their tires. The only thing it is good for is if you are on ice, otherwise turn it off. I had a new 1982 AMC Eagle sport coupe (no electronic crap) that would go anywhere on that beach and never spin a tire. It would even back up and over the pile of sand at the south end where you weren't supposed to go. Some of the jacked up wide tire trucks couldn't make it. It could drive up to the wall behind the motels where the sand was the deepest and loose on the whole beach like it was paved. It had a 4 cyl with an auto and must have been posi axles. It didn't have enough power to spin even in the deepest snow here in Ohio, it would just go. I never had it off road it was too nice so I don't know how it did in mud probably power out. If you are not familiar with Matt's off road recoveries here on youtube you should take a few minutes and check his channel out. He has built several unique recovery vehicles that work in all the different type areas that Utah has to offer. From sand dunes, mud, ice and snow and a bunch of rock crawling. All of his vehicles will go in any type and all of the different types of terrain. His latest build is the large off-road wrecker that will control the tire pressure whether up or down from a switch inside the cab. Did I mention that it has a total of seven winches?

Using a kinetic rope vs a tow rope. It does all the work. Stretches about 30%

Man if you like Daytona that much, you’d really love the Outer Banks area of North Carolina. I’ve been to Daytona close to 40 times in my life and not seen that many people stuck in all 40 times combined. If you go to OBX (Outer Banks) from Corolla north Hwy 12 is the beach. Not in common at all to see multiple 4x4 vehicles stuck. As far as I know 2wd are not allowed.

Definitely, if it’s a bad day just air down the tires to 12-15psi, normal conditions on a less crowded day you wouldn’t have any issues

Half the time I don’t even use a gauge, just whenever they start to squat. Somewhere around 8psi-10psi, I’ve aired down to 5psi a handful of times in some deep snow

Standard stuff. Bumpers, rock rails and skid plate makes it about 1000lbs heavier, it’s the kinetic rope that does all the work.
