Brad, I know you were only slightly putting yourself down for getting stuck twice, but don't call yourself an idiot. We all do things that in hindsight were not smart, but that is how we gain experience. Besides, there are plenty of other people that are going to call you whatever name, if given the chance. So, you are not an idiot, but rather you are twice experienced.

@@brockjohn90 Oh yes, I've seen that. Check out Supreme Services channel. He did a demo. It would be a real trick to make a rider hover mower though. But it could be done. And really, it should be done.

The type of switch you were talking about is called a dead mans switch, it is designed so that if the operator becomes incapacitated for some reason, the machine will switch off to prevent further injury.

For the platform kill switch you can toss a weight or gas can on it to trigger the safety. That or hot wire the switch.

Yep, always hate when the mower gets stuck which is very easy to do on the standers. They should put bigger mud tires on them but not enough to tear up the grass

Someone just drove their car through my grass this morning. How do you fix tire marks on fresh green grass? How long does it take?
@CopperCreekCuts4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the grass and how bad the ruts are. Sometimes you can just press them out with your foot, especially if the ground is still moist. If the grass doesn't spring back on it's own you may need to level the ground and re seed or re sod.

I did that just the other day, was mowing an overgrown area, got stuck, walked to the garage, started my quad with a dead batty with a kick start, rode to my grandparents to borrow there chain, came back pulled out the mower, returned the chain, parked the quad, walked back to the mower got on, and figured if I go from the top of the little hill, il be fine....high centered, so again start the quad that doesn't like to start, get the chain pull it out park the quad and decided there is a spot that doesn't seem wet at all (I mean I can walk on it and it is a little spongie, I know not a word) so I start mowing and get stuck.....walk back to the house, start the quad, go get the chain again pull it out (or so I thought) return the chain, park the quad walk back to the mower......only to find I dident pull it out far enough...get on the quad and well you know the rest of the story, so I decided after that to go mower the dry spot by the road...... And I got high centered in some ruts from last fall, so you know how the story goes, get on the mower, at that point I'm done.....and I'm out of gas, so back to start the quad (once it gets warm, it has some really bad kick back) get the gas can, fill up the mower, put the can back, and park the quad, go back to the mower, starts up fine, go back to park it....and I forgot that the mower needs to go behind my quad, so start the quad after 10min of kick back, park the mower, park the quad....oh forgot to mention it was starting to get dark when all this happened, hopefully this maybe helps you not feel as foolish 😜, I have learned my lesson, I now have my own set of chain and charge my ATV battery so it starts easier😌

"The moral of the story" is always get your mower stuck near a tree so you have an excuse to drive down to the store (it's a nice day, right?) and get yourself a shiny new come-along cuz it's stuck 100 yards from the house and no one's going to drive a truck out there on wet sticky clay soil and besides the hiking will do ya good especially since you'll also have to walk back again to get the wrench you forgot you'll need to loosen the hydros (Olde Skoole), and once more because the chain's too short (nice parking job, idiot!). All the while in full view of the neighbors who I'm sure are sitting inside in the air conditioning videoing the whole thing to be put on YT at 2x speed with Benny Hill music. Or so I've heard.
