Farrrrkin ell the fella is brickwork mad, he's ripped his kitchen units out to build a show piece for the channel!!! The Mrs comes home.... "Stu, wheres me kitchen units....?, appliances....? where's me photo frames....?" - "Give us 2 or 3 hours love i'll finish off this wee flemish bond beauty for the channel then i'll get it all plumbed, connected and wired all back in" Wife grabs kitchen knife still left on the side.....eeeeeeekk....ha ha ha Cracking job stu, flemish bond is a rare site these days and looks a miwwion dollars when done to this kind of standard and lovely raked out coloured mortar. Thumbs up, I know how much effort this takes to end up at this 10 minute video.

Fantastic workmanship there Stu. How about trying your hand at building a "domed " piza oven, I have seen some on other channels. They tend to be constructed "roughly" as they cover the bricks with insulation. Yours would be a "masterpiece" with precision cuts on your brick saw. And as a bonus you could use it for keeping your greenhalgh's pies warm:).

Hopefully you see this and can potentially answer ... I am around 7 weeks from turning 21, I haven’t enjoyed much of my jobs I’ve done up to now, I am thinking of paying for a brick laying construction course at college, is it worth the risk and how easy is it to get a job afterwards/become self employed?

*Stu, mate, so on average how much cement is needed for say, 50 bricks for example ...is there a ration of cement :to: bricks in the industry ? 🤔*

@orthoepy1 Жыл бұрын
How do you calculate and maintain the dimensions and length of a Brick Wall? How are the dimensions and length of a Brick Wall arrived at so that it will work out to a perfect number of whole bricks without having to saw or to shorten a brick or having to plug a two inch hole at the end of the brick wall? As you are making the first run of the Brick Wall; placing brick, mortar, brick, mortar, brick, mortar; how do you keep the length of the brick run in compliance with the theoretical length and dimensions of the brick wall? A slight increase or decrease in the width of the mortar joints will increase or decrease the overall length of the brick wall causing you to saw or to shorten a whole brick or having to plug a two inch hole at the end of the brick wall.
