This isn't "funny" but my favourite thing about forgiveness is that my sister forgave me for being an asshat to her for years once I got sober and made my amends. So forgiveness is a beautiful thing. 5 years sober now.

I’m not sure if you’ll actually read this comment but I felt the need to share a story after listening to this podcast. I listen every week and absolutely love it, but this week whenever you were talking about school punishment and brought up some thing that I actually had to go through as a teacher. I’m a teacher in California and last year one of the punishments that the front office gave a specific student of mine was that his mom came to school and sat in my class right next to him all day. It’s exactly like what you were saying with getting punished in front of your mom. That kid had the best day ever in my class, but that also showed the issue with the punishment because the mom only saw him acting good didn’t fully understand why she had to come to see him in the first place. He never wanted his mom to come back so although he didn’t act perfect for the rest the year, he definitely acted better!

Jake looked so out of touch with the Addison Rae drama and Trey was in his element. Then Jake turned the tables on Trey by sidetracking and skyrocketing into math complexities leaving Trey looking the same way Jake was minutes earlier. Hilarious.

I love it when Trey is about to cross a line or take a joke too far and Katie does her, “Ohhhkay” in her sweet reprimand voice. 😀 I can imagine her doing that to future little Trey, Jr. while driving and he’s in the backseat saying naughty words! 😂

Just to add to discussion on school punishment, in NC high school they can hit kids with a switch (stick) ! But only with parent’s permission, so if you don’t want your kid hit with sticks you don’t have to sign off on it.

I worked as a tutor at a public elementary school about 15 years ago and there was a paddle mounted above the principal's desk. It had holes in it and 'The Board of Education' engraved on it. The principal was only allowed to spank a child with the parents' permission and the parent had to be present in the room. The principal only used it once in the two years I worked at that school.

I got a spanking by the principal when I was in 2nd grade. A 6th grade boy was picking on my brother who was a 1st grader. I pushed him and the 6th grader slapped me in the face. It turned into a fight. We both got spanked the next day. That was 1984-ish in NE Kansas.
