Let’s ask the professors if they would take a pay cut to make tuition cheaper.
@PayNoTax-GetNoVote5 жыл бұрын
Ask them, since professors get pensions and most people don't anymore, if they would be willing to pay 10% more in taxes to help pay the tuitions. Of course, AFTER you bait them in on the "should we forgive student loan questions". The few that say yes will be liars OR set up a "petition" sheet calling all professors @ said university to donate "X"% of their paycheck IN PERPETUITY to a faculty funded scholarship program. In many states to be a licensed engineer you have to have an engineering degree, but for someone to get that degree shouldn't be on the tax payer through student loan forgiveness. In reality the only way you're making big money is to fill a field that is in high demand, again look at engineers. At my local public college, after my scholarships (and I have the highest merit scholarship), it would cost me 15,000 a year. I would be able to pay it off at minimum wage if and only if I worked full time. And that's really cutting it close. If I go to a private college the least I'll have to pay is about 9,000 right now. So I could pay that off if I had a full-time job at minimum wage. But you can't really do that and still graduate from college. I'm grateful to have so much in scholarships, but should I really have to rely so solely on them? Last note. Did you consider that the college kids you see in expensive clothes and out on the town either go out only occasionally and have some nice clothes for when they do, or that the kids you're seeing could be the richer kids who have college paid for by their parents?

Yup, its pathetic. The way it is now you can choose to go a route other than college, choose a cheap college, or choose an expensive college. You can choose to commute and save money or live on campus and have a lot more fun. You can choose to work and pay some/all while you go, or just live off credit. You can choose to go to school at 18, serve in the military, or work a few years in between. You can choose to focus your money on it early in life and pay it off quick, or pay the minimum for a longer amount of time. The way the system works now, we all have choices that all lead to different outcomes. The way the these selfish, nasty libs want it those who make good choices just get punished on behalf of those who made poor choices. What scares me is I'm a millennial, and I busted my butt, worked full time, took courses part time, and graduated debt free. What I did was smart. If the government forgives student loans, the smart thing becomes to just borrow every dime you can, pay as little as possible, and just trust there will be more loan forgiveness in the future. If people think tuition cost and student loans are a problem now, just wait until not only do all the people currently making poor decisions continue to make poor decisions, but the good decision makers also come to the conclusion that being stupid financially is the smart thing to do.
