Thanks Percy. I only needed the bass midi part in a song I'm working on but I went to 'file' - 'save as' and then choosing 'midi' in the drop down menu. When I opened the saved file back into studio one, it saved all the other midi tracks as well. Now you've explained where I was going wrong. Cheers!

Percy I have to ask you a question. I have gone back and forth with this in my head. I understand how to import midi files into Studio One. I work in Finale and transfer the files into Studio One. So, all my files are Synth instruments. On my mixer in Finale I write Jazz songs. So, from the information I've learned the instrumentation should be what you see on a stage. The Bass is panned Right slightly off centered, the guitar would be on the Right slightly side...Piano, clave,and other instruments would be panned left or right. The only thing that is center would be a drum kit and synth vocals. So The question is on my fader would the instruments that are planned left and right in Finale be Centered? If so please explain why it would be. It would help me greatly to understand mixing. And the Channel Mode would that be in mono for those same tracks or stereo? Remember those tracks are all midi files coming from Finale. I hope you understand what I am saying. Thank you very much Percy Jules. Have a great night sir.

@SupercyMusic6 жыл бұрын
Hello Ahsan, The export midi option also exists in S1 4. Actually, the same method shown in the video applies to S1 4. So if you select any midi parts, go to the event menu and choose "Export Selection". Don't forget to change the file type to MIdi File and save it anywhere on your computer. Please let me know this works. If this doesn't work it sounds like some kind of error. In that case, I would advise you contact Presonus.

NOTE-I have never seen this information in any manual or video: If you are importing a MIDI file that was recorded on a DAW not using a click (free loose tempo jazz, etc) you must have your DAW set to the same tempo as the DAW it was recorded on even if that tempo has nothing to do with the approximate tempo of the performance.

how do export midi file as mp3 from studio one?
@SupercyMusic5 жыл бұрын
Hello Alysa, To export a midi file as an mp3 file you would basically have to convert it. One way to do that would be to go to the "song" menu, then select "export mixdown", change the format to mp3 and then click "ok". I'll try to do another video about that soon. 😉

Okay. I want to listen to this midi in korg pa 4x. All tracks are condensed in Track 1 of pa 4x. I want every track in Studio One to match a 4x pa track (or another external sequencer). I do not know either the studio one can not. In Cubase you can. Anticipated thanks for the answer.

Hi Marinel, I'm not absolutely sure I understand your question. Do you want Studio One to send midi to the Korg PA4X?
@rafetjulevic27433 жыл бұрын
Yes I have the same question. We have a midi file created from a pa4x arranger on studio one, and the pa4x connected to our computer. We want all the midi info playing out of our pa4x when we play from studio one. Basically routing the midi out and having all the information playing correctly from our pa4x.
